Weedy indie, new rave, old wave, post-rock blah blah blah, at last a band to cut through all the nonsense and actually make you fall in love with music again.
With a comprehensive tour on the horizon and recording sessions at the Sawmills studios, The Truths intend to continue building their avid following.
After Anthony Neale (vocals, song writing) and Joe Taylor (guitar) met through a mutual friend they immediately started jamming on Anthony's songs and knew they had something special. "It was great meeting someone with the same tastes and influences, we just spent hours playing records to each other" says Joe. Having met bass player James Goddard at college, Joe knew that he would fit right in. He’s got a deep down dirty style, he can groove with the best of them says Anthony. Simon Ward-Wilson (keys, guitar) was spotted playing in London by James and was invited down to join the band, and powerhouse drummer Dave Neale (no relation to Anthony) joined at the beginning of 2007.
Having recorded tracks with the legendary Hugh Jones (Hope of the States, The Bluetones, Echo and the Bunnymen etc) and Dare Mason (Placebo), while headlining the Cornish Live Music Awards at the Princess Pavilions, they attracted the attention of Paul (Razorlight, Muse) Reeve who looks set to produce the band in the near future.
With one of the most charismatic lead singers around and a huge stage presence as a band, they’ve been described as “something that’s been missing from British music for a long timeâ€.
Critical response has been ecstatic, prompting one journalist to exclaim "The Truths are the best band I’ve seen in ten yearsâ€, Stoked magazine calling them “a sexy, aggressive wall of soundâ€, The Guardian calling them “absolutely fxxking amazing!†etc, etc.
With their sights set high, and labels chomping at the bit to see them, The Truths look set to kick the doors in this year, and take their place as one of England most exciting new bands. left
