The 13TH FLOOR
formed in June 2004, it is a band in the alternative/rock culture.
Dushan and Benny (The 13TH FLOOR members) had
been putting some music together and writing songs. Soon after Benny asked Mick if he would like to drum for the boys, a slab later FUCK WHY NOT.
'The three of us just clicked, liked the company, drank more than played,
but slowly changed our way to playing more and drinking a little less. We
would rehearse at Dushan's house in Northcote with a slab, making a shit
load of noise and the neighbours had to put up with it!'
Within three months we had more than a dozen songs, things got serious, and the band started rehearsing at the Dane Centre in Brunswick.
Four months in we recorded 16 songs at Duxx studio in Gisbourne. Nick couldn't belive we drank three slabs and laid it all down in ten hours. Mind you most of it sounded horrible and Duxx did a great job making it sound ok. We picked 6 songs for our very 1st cd - well our demo! We are in our third year and fuck we're lovin' what we're doin' with the band, lovin' the Melbourne music culture, meeting shit loads of crazy people, getting to hear a lot of sick sounds from different bands around the traps and learning the background behind it.
In the simplest way three dudes got together, drank shit loads learning to play with one another and its great to see what fucking sounds we bring out.
