So what does Sparkle Promotions do? SP was set up by Jools who realised she couldn't do it all alone, so twisted old mate, Laura's arm until she submitted and then Jools dragged in some very nice bloke she'd met on eBay (no, seriously!), Alex to join it as well (he only lives on the other side of the Atlantic). All three are passionate about their music and want to help unsigned and new bands/artists get a foot through the door into the music business...
We are a PR company... We're NOT a management company who will take 20% of all of the artist's meagre earnings (although please do note this is NOT A FREE SERVICE - we need you to pay for all costs, but Sparkle don't make any profit from this at all!) and we're not a live promotions company (although we're in the midst of putting together 'The Sparkle Survival Guide' that will have a load of contacts for lver promoters, venues, merchandisers, etc and that will be available for any bands who join our roster) - we're just here to work with the bands to get a bit of press, some radio airplay, get them in a magazine or two or get them out there to the Student comminutues via student radio and/or student press - and quite possibly anything you want them to do, they'll do (within reason of course, and nothing to do with small furry rodents and toilet roll cardboard innards!?). All we ask of you is to keep in regular contact, keep us up to date with what you're doing so we can let your fans know and say for instance if we do a mass mailout of your demo you pay for the expenses... We'll even give you a copy of the receipts we're charging you for! And if we come to a gig of yours, bung us on the guestlist, buy us a drink and we'll be satisfied with that! (Laura likes chocolate as well though - keep that in mind at ALL times!) Much more managable that the 20% of your earnings, isn't it? Contact us for all the details and pricing...
No matter if you're from the UK or abroad we can promote you to radio (including national, regional, DAB, internet and podcast stations) and publications (fanzines, webzines, printed and online music magazines) Also, we've got mailing lists for student radio and student press - as well as a few clubs that play unsigned music too!
So where do YOU, the person reading this, come into the equation? Simple! If you are in a band and like the idea of gig swapping, get in touch. If you're in a band ANYWHERE in the world and would like airplay on radio, feature in mags and online music sites and/or student radio & press, get in touch, If you're a booker for a venue in the UK and would like to take part in The Gig Swap Register, again, get in touch. If you run a publication - online or printed! - or are a radio presenter who plays unsigned music on their show, then please get in touch. Or if you a fan of the music we're promoting on here, tell us about bands and venues near you and keep checking back for new music, new bands or even interview links, etc. Also, if you have any ideas for us, get in touch either by messaging us on here or filling in the contact for on ,b.www.sparklepromotions.com. We're also setting up a Street Team so if you like the music you hear on here and aren't satified in just listening, why not join up to the Sparkle Promotions street team and we'll give you all the materials and knowledge you need to help your favourite bands with online promotion, gig promotion and much more besides... In exchange you will receive signed cds, photos, guestlist spots and maybe even the chance to meet the artists you are helping to promote! Like the sound of that? Then what are you waiting for?
After all, it's all about the music.... isn't it?
