TRACK TEAM

About Me

Over the past 5 years, Nick Hunt (Noodle) and Tom Borgas (The Activist) have worked hard at developing an approach to DJing that extends beyond the technical skill it takes to overlap a series of songs into a set. For them, DJing is more than just playing good music: it's about building a relationship between the people behind the decks and the people on the dancefloor.Rather than just playing records back to back, both members of Track Team are hard at work behind the decks for the entire set. This allows for greater scope technically (usually involving a third deck and a mixer with effects/sampling capabilities) but it also leaves one member of the team free to build a connection with the crowd. As Track Team has learnt, an obvious enthusiasm proves very infectious when it comes to showing people a good time.As far as music goes, these boys are never limited by genre or the stereotypical pretence that is often associated with DJing in clubs. Working from a hip hop, funk and breaks foundation, their aim is to provide an accessible, eclectic but innovative selection of technically well-mixed tunes- in short a sure-fire recipe for a solidly rocking dance floor no matter what the time or place. Their sets incorporate on-the-fly live remixes, acapellas and self produced 'mash-ups' as a means of enhancing what is already a highly original set.In terms of experience, these boys have long been a part of the pub and club scene in Adelaide. As well as maintaining a number of residencies in the Adelaide CBD, Noodle and The Activist have proved notable supports alongside some of biggest names in DJing and electronic music production including Grandmaster Flash, Z-Trip, Mix-Master Mike, Krafty Kuts, A.Skillz, The Nextmen, The Hilltop Hoods, Stanton Warriors, The Breakfastaz, and Kid Kenobi.Having won the inaugural Fresh Fringe Spin DJ competition, Nick and Tom performed at the official opening of the Adelaide Fringe Festival, an oppurtunity they were blown away by. 2007 proved to be a huge year for Track Team, with their Mixtape 1 being played on local radio- Fresh fm and national radio- Triple J. Watch this space for news updates on music, news and Track Team gigs.
