We are a group of highly energized women who love to sing, dance, learn and strive for musical excellence.
*We've been together since October of 2006. Having a great deal of experience behind us, we know what we want and are working diligently to achieve our goals. On November 27th, we received our charter and now we are officially Emerald City Chorus.
*Sweet Adelines International is a highly respected worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performances. This independent, nonprofit music education association is one of the world's largest singing organizations for women.* (Sweet Adelines International myspace, 2007)
*The chorus represents a wide range of ages from 18 to 75 and encourages even the youngest of singers to come join us. Members include college students, teachers, homemakers, business owners and nurses. ECC also has members of a past Midwest Plains Region 7 championship quartet, and many still learning and perfecting the art of barbershop singing.*
*Emerald City Chorus represents many local communities including, Wichita, Arkansas City, Mulvane, Burden, Lyons, Rose Hill, Moline and Andover with many of us carpooling every Monday night to chorus.*
