This that real shit!!!!Hip-Hop Lives!!!

About Me

What is Pain & Struggle? Pain & Struggle is a collection of songs that reflect a dark period of one mans life. Pain and Struggle is having to deal with fake ass people, who claim to have your best interests at heart, but who's actions tell a diffrent story. Pain & Struggle is losing people you love when your not ready to. Pain & Struggle is trying to stay true to yourself and your art form, while trying to appease the tastes of an ever fickle rap populace. Pain & Struggle is improvising, adapting, and over coming all the obstacle the haterz throw in your way. Pain & Struggle is life. Though just one part of it. And Iv'e never been one to sacrifice artistic integrity to make you shake your ass. Like the banner says Real Recognizes Real. AreYou? Poetix has been recording and performing locally for over ten years with the group Productz of Socety (Poetix, EMG, B-Don and DJ O.N.E.). In 2002, after graduating from MusicTech, the group disbanded and members Poetix and DJ O.N.E started focusing mainly on producing and promoting members of the 9 Double M stable and building NexxtLevel Studios into a premiere recording studio. Somewhat disillussioned by the state of hip-hop Poetix drifted away from the performance and recording scene, though he did do some cameos with other artists. The years from 2005-2006 were very rough and saw the loss of several family members and friends, including the loss of his father and other personal ordeals, which would become the subject matter for Pain & Struggle. Having never recorded a solo project, Poetix realized that this was something he needed to do and began working on Pain & Struggle in the summer of 2006. Easily his most personal and poignaint work to date, Pain & Struggle is scheduled for release in the fall of 2007. Profile Edited at Hott Myspace Layouts

My house was always filled with music as a child. My father was a jazz guitarist and my mother sang folk music at coffe houses in the village. You would reguarly here diffrent artist fom Jim Croce to Marvin Gaye To Wes Mongomery to Miles Davis To James Brown to Stevie Wonder to the 5th Dimesion being played. As a child in NewYork I saw Hip-Hop being born on the streets. The first rappers I saw were kids on my block at block parties.I was rapping before I knew what rap was. As I got older I found music of my own like Steve Arrington and Slave, The Dazz Band, The Gap Band, The Whispers, Parliament Funkadelic, Mtume and too many others to mention. Iv'e always loved music and it has always been a big part of my life, I just didn't know till late that I wanted to be a part of it. I find it quite ironic that in my high school there was a recording studio and I have never been in it. To busy trying to cut class and chase girls. Right now I think that there is too much watered down bullshit out there. Only a handful of artists are being recognized for making good music while the record companies force feed you this bullshit. The revolution starts now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LEAVE A MESSAGE. ITS A FREE CALL!!!!!!!!!!!
