About Me

.. Myspace GraphicsAs a songwriter and performer, Kevin blends his lyrics and arrangements with his high energy and dynamic drive to create one of the most engaging stage shows in modern country music.Kevin's music blends traditional country instrumentation and classic 70's rock with a musical mixture all his own. It's new meets old, urban meets country --gravel meets asphalt kind of music. Whether it's a dance tune that rocks, a heartfelt and inspiring ballad or a tune you can't quite categorize, you just love the groove, Kevin's lyrics wrapped in his musical arrangements will have you hooked.Kevin's passion is songwriting and performing allows him to share that experience with others. Born in the melting pot that is Southern California, Kevin grew up surrounded by not only different cultures, but Los Angeles based musical talents such as The Eagles, The Byrds, Stephen Stills, Tom Petty, Dwight Yoakam, Merle Haggard and Buck Owens. While some of these artists defined California's rock sound, others defined what came to be known as the Bakersfield sound; putting the "western" in "Country Western" music. These artists had more than California in common however, they had common influences as well...Elvis, the Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly and of course, the Beatles -- all of which would influence the sounds coming out of Nashville. Kevin has taken these influences, his surroundings and experiences to meld familiar themes that transcend us all, into his own intriguing country sound. In 1994 Kevin formed his country band. He has since been awarded the California Country Music Associations' Male Vocalist of the Year. He has continued to grow as an artist and emerge as one of Southern California's top country entertainers; setting attendance records at venues throughout the Southland: the world famous Crazy Horse Saloon in Orange County, the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, the Brandin' Iron in San Bernardino, Montana's (formerly Western Connection) and Country Star at the Universal City Walk in Los Angeles. Kevin's songwriting abilities were showcased first on his debut CD, "The Window", which he released on his own independent label, "Haymaker Records". The response to this project further fueled the fire, inspiring Kevin to write and record more. He then released his second CD, "Stones Unturned" in 2003. Subsequently, events in Kevin’s life have presented some twists and turns that slowed the progress of his third CD. It has also provided much of the inspiration and framework for one of his best works yet – musically and lyrically. He is looking forward to sharing this with his fans later this year. While one may say Kevin’s musical genre is country you’ll find him just as comfortable with Rock and Blues and at a live show, you’ll get a little of everything. It is easy to understand why Kevin appeals to a large demographic. He is charming, personable, an exciting live entertainer and most importantly, people respond to him and his music. He has a gift for reading his audience and knows exactly how to engage the crowd, never turning down a chance to interact with his fans either on stage or after a performance. For these reasons, Kevin has had the privilege of playing great venues such as The Honda Center, MGM Grand, Route 66 Rendezvous, the 2006 NASCAR Racefest in Fontana, CA and he performed for an unprecedented tenth straight year at the 2006 Riverside Orange Blossom Festival. All have have allowed him to open for such acts as Keith Urban, Big & Rich, Sugarland, Rascal Flatts, Darryl Worley, Jimmy Wayne, Jessica Andrews, Bobby Bare, Blue Country, Paul Brandt, Chris Cagle, Emerson Drive, Ty Herndon, Steve Holy, Sonia Isaacs, The Kinleys, Shannon Lawson, Lila McCann, Julie Reeves, Riccochet, Tim Rushlow, Tanya Tucker and more. .Powerhouse CBS radio station 95.1 KFRG in the Inland Empire continues to feature Kevin at many of their high profile media events and concerts. Major venues across southern California, Arizona and Nevada request Kevin, anxious to benefit from his charismatic stage personality and natural ability to command any size audience. Kevin has been successful in building a large, loyal fan base, and Kevin looks forward to seeing them at his live appearances. The beauty of country music is the stories it tells and the many emotions it invokes in each of us. Similarly, the pursuit of a music career stirs up many moods and emotions, seriousness and humor, power and sensitivity. It's a rough road but for someone with a passion and talent for music, it's a road from which you never veer. And yes, it involves a little luck and timing. As Robert Collier once said, "All of us have bad luck and good luck. The man who persists through the bad luck -- who keeps right on going -- is the man who is there when the good luck comes -- and is ready to receive it." Gravel or asphalt, Kevin handles the twists and turns with ease and is ready for the journey.
