About Me

Rob D'Riche is born out of the wild mix of a Polish mother and Irish father yet while they both worked hard in the early days young Rob was cared for by a Nanny in a tight Jamaican family in Hackney, East London. For 6 years he absorbed a rich black culture of food, music and dance. At around 10 he joined a new school which was predominantly Asian so he was further exposed to a multi-culture of religion and musical influence. It was here he discovered the music room, a little studio where he taught himself piano and engineering. D'Riche spent every lunch hour and every hour he could in the music room to a point where he even nicked the keys. Here was where his love of learning became an obsession. His hunger to discover DJ-ing/scratching, singing, MC-ing and experimenting in every way he could with a Microphone was insatiable. This boy just wanted to conquer all aspects of entertainment so he could perform. In his teens he joined a well known record store in Ilford, Music Power, where he met Ian Hughes to form a remixing team Oracles. They grew together with the likes of 'Luck 'n' Neat' and other hot DJs &MCs of that time. It was also now that D’Riche started to really exel with his production skills. As a lover of Dance music as a whole, D’Riche is one off the few producers that can turn his hand to producing House, Pop, D&B, Garage, Trance, R&B, Breaks & Hip Hop and he literally exels in each of these genres. Now, the difference here was that D'Riche held the edge over all with a gift from god. Inside him was a voice that literally melted every word when he sang' He was influenced by Robbie Craig at that time but has always been tempered by the sounds of Stevie Wonder & Michael McDonald. The interesting aspect about D'Riche's vocals is that he has an uncanny ability to emulate so many different sounds. While he has exposed himself to such varied musical cultures, it's simply natural for him to morph his voice to suit and compliment a song regardless of the genre, whether he is featured or up front on a record. Ultimately this is what makes Rob D'Riche totally unique. As Rob matured he found himself working at the old “Pete Waterman's Hit Factory”(PWL) for 4 years where his abilities were stretched to the limit in the studio and he moved up a league perfecting his arrangement skills. In his mind, the sheer joy to experience working with such masters as writer David Myers (Jack In The Box, Elaine Page, The Temptations), Errol Brown and Lisa Scott Lee (3SL) was something special to add to the road towards pop music. Later D'Riche moved on to work with Ratpack, Baby.D, Gemma Fox, Dina Vass, 2 Play, Peter Andre, Martha Wash, Moloko, Robbie Craig, Robbie Gee (Guy Richies "snatch"), Tony T (phats n small) +many more. Recently he's found himself collaborating with "Soulshaker-Robbie Craig- 2play- Simon Webbe- Tiny Tempa- Fastcar magazine- Bykerbabe.com- …Rob D'Riche has now teamed up with Richie Montana and is currently working in house on 2 major albums and is rapidly becoming hot property and is truly one to look out for!!! .
