BiographyAt the age of 12 Pierra dreamed to be an illustrator and started to draw and write poems. The familial circumstances forced her to take an apprenticeship in a trading direction at school and business. But in the further process of her life she found the right way to escape from this wrong direction.
She had close contact to the artist and sculptor Helmut Amman, who was fascinating her because of his abstract thinking. She started to do some small graphics and text for an agency in the field of Insurance companies. In this time she travelled the first time to America. After a brake she studied Macrobiotics - a form of natural nutrition in companionship with Yin and Yang - by Mitcho Kushi (Austria/Vienna), Rene Levy (France/Toulouse) and Lima Osawa (Japan/Tokio) for 3 years. She stayed since then vegetarian. She travelled a lot around Europe and Asia. She was very interested in finding her truth, stopped with macrobiotics and in a consequence of this development she met Jiddu Krishnamurti, writer and speaker on fundamental philosophical and spiritual meanings. She went to Brockwood for working as a cook in his international co-educational boarding school. After several weeks she started travelling to Asia and stayed for 5 months at a small island in a fishing hut for philosophical thinking and writing. She experienced that she was only one of the human beings of this planet, filled like all others with love, pain, passion and all other human subjects and not just bounded as a person with european roots and felt therefore as a cosmopolitan. She deeply viewed especially the illusion of consciousness. After a long period of inner searching she started her work in the print business as an assistant for Art Buying for a glossy and later as an graphic artist and copywriter for agencies. She started a career in „learning by doing“ in the TV-Business. Basically it is unusual in Germany because you need a degree for all what you do. But her big passion for creativity and creation out of „nothing“ leads her. She started as a graphic artist for News and changed after a couple of months to the development department. The movement of graphics and the creation of design is very fascinating for her. She worked for channels like Pro7, Kabelkanal, DSF, VIVA in collaboration with DMC (Neville Brody) in Cologne, than for a postproduction company in Hamburg and for VH1. At least Pierra was seniordesigner from the famous magazine „ran“ for the first German Soccer League and basketball, each week with 5 – 6 million viewer in best times, which is a high level status in Germany like basketball in America. She was determining the look of the desired format. She was doing total package design and at least additionally art direction. She was responsible for the employees. She worked for soccer 7 years in Hamburg, Berlin and than at least in Munich.
After this journey she started her new business in Berlin also as a freelancer. She is doing art direction, production of logos, jingles and package designs and animations for Film and TV for production companies and friendly traders in her small office. She developed her style of drawing - searching her real roots unattached from commercials in that. In January 2007 she made a virtual gallery in myspace. The artist Pierra Kayser loves the internal moments and printouts from itself. She operates from a status of speechlessness in the sense of not thinking - a process behind the mental one - and creates thereby a work with roots not in the world of framing things together. She let the drawings originate and develop. Often she does not know what follows next and how the drawing will end. She enriches her output with her long experience with the tools and technics of creative work. The topics are: the illusion of the viewer, emotion and social criticism. Her interest is situated in reflective thinking as a background and responses to human beings in their culture. She would like to give impulses, so that human beings find again more to theirselfs and their feelings. To awake the attention in oneself and for the own feelings in a world of the often frightening rationalization of feelings is very important to her. Especially in confrontation with a superficial free-market economy.
The artwork is very strongly eye-oriented: the eye as symbol for the gate to the soul. She is a supporter for the language of the visuals with emotion, if words flop.
Creation is lifelong the passion from Pierra.
