Here is what David Schultz from Earvolution.com had to say about our CD
"On their self produced, self-titled debut, the Cannys one up everyone by looking back to another century, bringing a selection of Irish folk ballads and pub songs into the 21st century...[The CBB] generate a powerful folky sound that works exceptionally well with Irish standards as well as their classic rock inspired jams."

"The Show"
To see the Canny Brothers Band live is to have a transcendent cultural experience. Brothers Steve, Tom and Mike Canny, Dean Russo, and Keith Fallon all may hail from Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, but their musical roots know no boundaries. Heavily influenced during their formative years by the magic of The Grateful Dead and the whiskey-soaked blues of the Allman Brothers Band, the brothers have continued to explore new musical frontiers, most notably the earthy sounds of their Celtic forefathers. Though primarily a cover band, they have also, in recent years, begun to work some high quality original music into their sets. The result is a huge working repertoire of songs, and live shows that are rife with possibilities and surprises. On "Beggar's Banquet," the Rolling Stones aptly described their band as a "Jigsaw Puzzle." It worked because all of the pieces fit. The same applies to the CBB. All of the pieces fit in this band, too. But rather than a "jigsaw puzzle," the Canny Brothers Band are more of a tapestry, woven together by their common love for music, good humor, friendship, and a rollicking good time! Words, of course, can only go so far. No matter how carefully crafted, they cannot hope to replicate the primal forces that are at work in a live rock n' roll show. It would be best for all those who read these words to heed the tribal drum, and come on down to the next Canny Brothers Band Show.
