Surplus Utility

Artificial music, for artificial people

About Me

Formed in a bedroom in the cold wet wastelands of northern England by disgraceful founder-member of York's Industrial metallers [DIGI]core (fuehrer Benedict), Surplus Utility mix and match multiple musical styles and meaningful lyrics to devastating effect.

With the noise of industrial music, the anger of punk, the beats of EBM and trance, the gut renching sub-bass of drum n bass and the crashing guitars of modern metal combining with delicate strings, piano refrains and samples of marching bands. The music is impossible to pigeon hole.

Politics, but not political
Religion, but not religious
Emotion, but by definition not emo
Pretentious, but accessible
Arrogant, but humble
Simply thoughtful and thought provoking incites into modern life from the personal, to the global and everywhere in between.
