About Me

Luc Parker (me) has been writing his drunk little heart out for about 10 years now, and he used to perform said writings in weird places, yes Weirder than open mics or poetry nights - at basement shows and 'underground' venues between bands. Sometimes it went well, other times not so much. Music is what the kids make babies to these days, so a band was kind of formed in Fall of 2006, featuring Luc doing vocals and guitar, Jake Luck from Thunder in the Valley on Casio keyboard, Cody Bourdot from the Blackthorns on bass and percussion, Richard Arnold from the Blackthorns on drums and Paul Puleo from Your Loving Tiger moonlighting on guitar and bass. Calling it Luc the Drifter was an allusion to Hank Williams Sr.'s alter ego Luke the Drifter - a name his record company insisted he use for his less commercial rambling 'spoken word' stories of sin and spirituality. So far, so good. Then in February of Ought-Seven, Jake quit. A week later Cody quit. The next day Richard quit. Then Luc quit being happy. For awhile. Then Richard agreed to come back. Then Nikki Grossman of The Gilded Age and Eatin Hog Eye started realizing the fiddle's full potential for prog-rock. And we decided to change the name of the thing because Alas, THERE IS NO ME IN ART! So we present The Chickadee Mountain Martyrs - turn-of-the 21st Century alchemist hoo-ha for brains and bods. We look forward to playing for you more often and hope to see you when we do. O-K!
Here's a video from a show - if ya squint you can make us out!
