After first outgrowing their basements, then their split-level studio in Dinkytown USA, Burlesque of North America, Lonny Unitus, and Amy Jo Hendrickson set out to find their new homebase, a space large enough to expand their print operations, design work, and aspirations to display their own artwork and that of an enormous network of talented friends and mentors.
It was a quest that led them all the way to Northeast Minneapolis, a hub of local artisans, local bars, and local yokels, and the basement of 1101 Stinson Blvd. With a fresh coat or two of paint, a pile of huge new equipment, and a lot of work, the new space was dubbed "First Amendment," and a movement was born.
