Marking the50TH anniversary of Ghana’s Independence

GHANA, the first black African nation to attain Independence from it’s British colonial rulers.
Today, the famous Ghanian HIGHLIFE which was founded
with African percussions, Afro Cuban rythms and Trinidadian
Calypso elements etc, is rather unforetunately too often
misinterpreted and replaced with Western beats and music.

Of course, music has no boundaries and fusion music is always
welcome in the music industry, but Ghanaians should watch out
that their traditional HIGHLIFE music does not loose it’s originality.
“Hiplife” as they call it is good but should not under any
circumstance replace HIGHLIFE both home and abroad:
NANA ANSONG’s new album brings back the momentum
of HIGHLIFE to make Ghanaians proud of their musical
heritage. His new album tells it all. Release date in August 2007
will be followed by concerts later this year both in GHANA and abroad
to mark the ongoing 50th independence jubilee.
