ANGLOHILI - ENGLISH/SWAHELI
We arrived at the word ‘Anglohili’ as a result of what the reality is. The reality is, Hip Hop being American, finds it’s way through other languages comfortably. One such language iskiswaheli (Swahili) Arab origin like many words in the language meaning desert people (Saheli). The interesting thing is, K-Nel Started it up with rapping in both English and Swahiliwhich gave rap a whole new and fresh presence. ‘Mi Negro Lindo’ Refrain Line sung in Spanish and Anglohili is an instance.Rappers in the USA continuously come up with some new word which catches up with the people trends causing a great impact on the spreading of the message and music. This is thecase here. A targeted concept to reach all African nations and abroad using the English language on one side as “for those of you who don’t understand Swahiliâ€. The perfect marriage.‘Swahili’, the widest spoken language on the African continent. English, leading language in world communications. So! ‘Anglohili’ may find it’s way across oceans like ‘American Rap’has done.Imagine some rappers over there picking up on some anglohili expressions. That would be a great step into fulfilling the philosophy of ‘Anglohili’.Anglohili

It is one of the languages that feature in some worldradio stations such as, the BBC, Radio Cairo (Egypt), the Voice of America (U.S.A.), Radio Deutschewelle (Germany), Radio Moscow International (Russia), Radio Japan International, RadioChina International, Radio Sudan, and Radio South Africa. The Swahili language is also making its presence in the art world - in songs, theatres, movies and television programs. Forexample, the lyrics for the song titled "Liberian girl" by Michael Jackson has Swahili phrases: "Nakupenda pia, nakutaka pia, mpenzi we!" (I love you, and I want you, my dear!). Thewell-celebrated Disney movie, "The Lion King" features several Swahili words, for example "simba" (lion), "rafiki" (friend), as the names of the characters. The Swahili phrase "hakunamatata" (No troubles or no problems) was also used in that movie.
The promotion of the Swahili language is not only in its use but also deliberate efforts are made throughout the world to include it in education curriculum for higher institutions oflearning. It is taught in many parts of the world.Swahili is spoken in many countries of Eastern Africa. For Tanzania, deliberate efforts were made by the independent nation to promote the language (thanks to the efforts ofthe former head of state, Julius K. Nyerere). Tanzania's special relations with countries of southern Africa was the chief reason behind the spread of Swahili to Zambia, Malawi, SouthAfrica, and other neighboring countries to the south. Swahili is the national as well as the official language in Tanzania - almost all Tanzanians speak Swahili proficiently and are unifiedby it. In Kenya, it is the national language, but official correspondence is still conducted in English. In Uganda, the national language is English but Swahili enjoys a large number ofspeakers especially in the military. As a matter of fact, during the Iddi Amin's rule Swahili was declared the national language of Uganda. However, the declaration has never beenseriously observed nor repealed by the successive governments.International Presence
