born in east london 1946 ........ After experiencing the London scene from a young age MC Sweetpea....... took hold at the mic at 15 mainly to reggae and beats . the opportunity had arisen for the artist to showcase his lyrical talent in front of a live audience. Subsequently the MC went on to compete against other young MC.s at the Birmingham Festival and ended up performing onstage with the likes of Daddy Freddie, General Levy and TopCat. Exposure such as this lead to SweetPea performing at the legendary Notting Hill Carnival. The artist took a new path into dance vibes influenced by London pirate stations such as Kool FM, Rinse and Deja... don fm... eventually earning a few sets on stations Moving to Bristol and hooking up with the head of Ragga FM (wileup.....SweetPea got regular slots playing Soul & RnB ragga which earnt me links with experienced artists on the Bristol scene. Later the artist began MCing over DJ Die RamJack.. Donovan Bad Boy Smith and Dazze..set The MC learnt a lot at the Sefton Park Youth Project who gave support, advice and assistance to up and coming local talent and supplied the necessary equipment for the users to get ahead in the game! MC SweetPea started doing parties for the club and events at Easton Community Centre. Through networking he met the founder of DriveBy,gerard 1ov Bristols biggest Drum n Bass promotions which lead to a residency which still stands strong to this day. Influenced by the sounds of Full Cycle,and bristol the artist was approached by Roni Size to accompany him on various MC sessions which meant the artist acquired bookings on many Full Cycle appointments..part of the fullcycle unit/family..contrabutin to the retunt v album..with bump n grind /also trax jiggy.... hold tite an the party banger smash..
