About Me

I'm getting excited for the phase in life where my ex-girlfriends start to achieve marginal fame.

My Interests

I work, I read, I consume. Consumption, contrary to popular belief, is not just a romantic way to die. In today's society, consumption is the cornerstone of our economic security. The more you consume, the safer you are from terrorists.

I'd like to meet:

San Franciscans.
I'm in the midst of moving to your city. Let's go out and have a drink and you can try to explain to me why I'm not allowed to call it "Frisco".

Music:

Aaron Kyle brought back Music Exchange with a vengeance! New Wilco, new Modest Mouse, some guy named David Vandervelde, the pop-tastic ELO-tunes of the Apples in Stereo and a little live Dr. Dog. It's been a good weekend.

Movies:

Casablanca. Manchurian Candidate. Style Wars. Battle of Algiers. Sherman's March. And all the cultural milestones appropriate to someone of my age.

Television:

Current TV

Books:

Lately I have a new goal...I want to be inspired by every book I read. It's kind of a pain in the ass goal.

Heroes:

All things Echo Park starting with the illustrious Mr. Nicholas J. Pony and his unmatchable love of pizza both as the familiar noun and his introduction of the adjective. That motherfucker was so pizza.

On Myspace, Los Angeles is the center of the universe

Calling bullshit on the tenderloin

Today I'd convinced myself to call bullshit on the Tenderloin. I mean, seriously, with high as the rents are in this city, can there really be a 'bad' neighborhood? Besides, I wasn't feeling very well...

"I am moving to San Francisco" F.A.Q.

F.A.Q.Q. Why San Francisco? Have you finally gone gay?A. No, no, not yet. It's for work. They've asked me to come north and take on a new project. I'm very excited about it. That's about all I can say...

the word 'devastation'

For a long time I've decried the power of words. It's how I've justified my sailor's tongue. Words are just words, objects of representation separate from the objects or ideas they represent. Words do...

Blog by demand

Today, this fine Halloween 2005, I had two different individuals of different gender and hometown-background tell me in no uncertain terms that I was to be Myspace Defriended if I didn't make some alt...
