I'm a 20 Year vet in the Music Game, just moving to the Charleston Area from The Bronx, N.Y. Tri Star International Sound is a Bronx/Mt. Vernon Based sound system, recognized & respected in professional circles. Myself & some parters from the N.Y recentley opened a couple of record shops, 1 in Moncks Corner S.C (J&R Stuff & Things) & 1 in St. Stephens S.C (Dream Records - Discount Cigarettes & Tobacco) & we got the city on smash!
As you can tell, our sound system is real about forming networks and making movements beyond the borders of N.Y.C & Jamaica. My goal is "Global Reggae Domination". Meaning that scince Hip Hop itself was formed in the Bronx by DJ Kool Herc (whom was born in Kingston Jamaica), carribean culture has played a role in American music for years, and has just recently been recognized as a "Popular Genre". Now we have reggae artist winning Grammy Awards, and thats only been for about a decade or so. And for those who say " You gotta be crazy, what about Bob Marley"? NO! (No disrespect to the King of Reggae of course.) But he wasn't the first one! we continue the legacy of those artists before us who paved the road for us. Bob, Shabba, Dennis Brown, Gregory Issacs, King Yellowman, the list goes on. It started with Reggae & thats how we'll end it.
In the meantime, I offer a number of services to upcoming talents, depending on skill levels. Production, Marketing, development deals are all included in our network. You name the artist, we've worked with them. You name the Sound System, we've played with them. Mabey even killed em! (Sound clash of course) But one things for sure, Yall aint seen nothing yet out of the "Star". So Dirty South LOOK OUT! Theres a new Sherrif in Chucktown, And I'm Kickin ASS & TAKIN NAMES!
