SHAHLIN AKA K-DIZZLE
Shahlin’s (Kevin Duncan) AKA K- Dizzle, music has been incubating for quite a while now, and was worth the wait. The Album "Best DJ" has it all: The smooth hip-hop/R&B grooves along with the Caribbean Flavor, plus the hyped up kicks and snares with added accents of orchestral backings. He obtained this name from his friends who were well aware of his love for the Martial Arts and japanimation. Hence the name "shaolin" pronounced by his friends as "SHAH" "LIN".
Shahlin was born and raised on the beautiful Island of Trinidad & Tobago. He started singing publicly at age 9 in his school choir and then singing solo at age 10. But what really fascinated him was the "Dancehall" music that he would hear on his way to school. At age 16 he came to the United States in 1988 with his immediate family and started pursuit of his career.
At age 18-21 he participated in church activities, played the keyboard and recorded his first single "Rebel". He continued actively in local shows for youth functions and concerts. At age 22, his friends and local producers alike were now recognizing Shahlin’s vocal talent. Shahlin did vocals for rapper such as “Nonchalant†back in 1996 called “Wen de Musicâ€.
His latest relocation was to South Carolina in November of 2003, where his music career started taking new heights. After completing college with a Cum Laude BA in Marketing, Shahlin proceeded to utilize his marketing skills in order to propel himself into the next level of entertainment. Shahlin wrote and produced 90% of his music and also produced for local artists as well. He was also a part of many local acts and events during the 3 years in Charleston SC. His vocal talent was heard in events such as BACK IN THE DAY, Old School Classic Soul Explosion at The Plex, Local Clubs, ISLAND VIBES ANNIVERSARY BLOCK PARTY 2007, CARIFEST 2007, CHARLESTON CARIFEST 2007, IRIE VIBES REGGAE JAM FEST, COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON and 2ND ANNUAL IRIE VIBEZ BLOCK PARTY. He also commenced "Opening performances" for known reggae artists such as "Collie Budds, Mr. Easy, and "Shaggy". He is now ready to hit up the dancehall scene with his hot new album "Best DJ" with songs like Guns and Wars, Fear Dis, Jack dah Rippah and many more. Be on the look out for Shahlin’s energetic talent in an event near you.
