Ever since 1998 when Dj Ricky Lee "The souths most versatile" blazed the airwaves with Reggae Explosion mix show on Charleston, South Carolina’s WWBZ, 98.9 and WWWZ 93.3, proved everyone wrong that doubt reggae could maintain a 1 rating on a commercial station in South Carolina. Dj Ricky Lee known as a trendsetter, and the only Dj that can blast any party(reggae, hip-hop,dance,house or r&b). Also, the only deejay in the Southeast region to successfully brand his own entertainment and street marketing companies while aggressively pursuing his career as a deejay. Ricky Lee has sold more than 30,000 mix CDs independently since 2001.
The thirteen-year veteran deejay is the owner and founder of Raw Dogg Entertainment (est. 1999) and Street Smart Marketing (est. 2002) He’s made numerous appearances in Vibe magazine’s “Vibe Spot”. And he strategically publicized his company by booking two deejays from the Raw Doggz deejay squad on the BET Network program “Rap City” in 2001 and 2003.
Dj Ricky Lee has ongoing sponsorship from VIBE, Red Stripe Beer, and VP Records in support of his mix shows, and his highly attended hip hop and reggae events which showcase some of Hip Hop and Reggae’s classic, underground, and mainstream talent.
Inspired by the social consciousness of Malcom X, Bob Marley and the “street smart” business tactics of Jay-Z, Dj Ricky Lee aims for longevity and respect in his craft as a deejay and an industry player.
