Johnny Handsome & The Flexible Joints

About Me

It was in the summer of 2005 when Johnny Handsome & The Flexible Joints came into being from a base of singing/acoustic guitar, drum and bass. For quite some time singer/songwriter Mark van Dijk was looking for musicians to work out his songs and eventually recording them in a studio. Goal was to record an album with nice songs. After that he would see what happened. In Hans Nelec and Dave Hoevenaars he found the right rhythm section. Driven by enthusiasm and willing to make something good out of it they began to rehearse and in march 2006 got into the studio to record 12 songs.Frank van den Hogenhof on lead guitar and Rob Geboers on Hammond render their assistance to the coming about of the songs. Recordings took place at the Edisound studio in Tilburg with Bart Erkelens.By now the cd is out and the reactions are very positive. The style of the album is difficult to describe. It has become a diversity of songs but together they cover a mixture of Pop/Rock music.Influences of Dylan, The Stones, John Mellencamp and Tom Petty are clearly to hear and it looks like the music is accessible for a broad audience. In december 2006 Bob van Dinther became the new lead-guitarplayer.Now it's time for the rest of the world to hear Johnny Handsome & The Flexible Joints.Listen and judge for yourself!
