Brought together by the serendipitous magic of New York City, The Last Great Picture Show is an overwhelming fury of expression, experimentation, and most importantly, passion! In a time where confusion and frustration are at their peak in the world, TLGPS strives to bring excitement back to music through an uncommon blend of acoustic, rock, flamenco, classical, and blues, while maintaining a sense of poignancy through their lyrics.
Born in Motown to two musically obsessed parents, 22 year old Caitlin Krisko has had an audio affair with the likes of The Beatles, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Led Zeppelin since childhood. By the age of 13, no longer inspired by the suburban sprawl, Caitlin's mother moved her to New York City to allow her creative mind to flourish at the Professional Performing Arts School. She later continued on to Circle in the Square, a prestegious arts conservatory, where she focused on vocal development and performance. Upon finishing the program, Krisko went on to involve herself with various music projects around NYC, including writing her first EP entitled "The Unintelligible Truth" which was released August 2006 by Galuminum Foil Productions.
A combination of fate and luck, thrown in with a splash of fortuitous events united Krisko with 24 year old guitar phenom Mitch Mitchell, who's first professional project was at the age of 15 writing and recording with jazz legend/pianist, Larry Willis (Blood, Sweat & Tears). Mitchell then went on to perform at various NAMM shows, gaining endorsement deals from Peavey and Martin along the way. Mitchell's music has been performed and featured on The Howard Stern Show, and his rock band, The Answer, has sold over 20,000 albums independently.
After only two weeks of working together, The Last Great Picture Show was chosen to be flown down to Belize to headline at the International Music Festival in Placencia Village which took place March 22nd-26th performing in front of an audience of jetsetters and music lovers from around the world.
Living up to their passionate desire to make a difference in this world, The Last Great Picture Show performed at The Bitter End on April 17th to a packed audience, and raised over $1,000 for The Pinwheel Project, a non-profit dedicated to bringing emotional support to lower income children's hospitals in NYC
The Last Great Picture show is thrilled to announce their creative partnership with soon to be web sensation www.woozyfly.com, and the dexterous duo has currently begun rehearsing with a full band! We'll be back in the fall to knock your socks off, so please check back often for updates! :)
