Band Website: "JOHNNY CASH VIDEO released here Tues MARCH 20th
Band Members: Tony Baker: Vocals . Guitars . songwriting (previously with Loved Ones, The Yahoo Family, Johnny Jumps the Bandwagon, Household Name)Jack Penford Baker: Drums
Influences: Johnny Cash . Mekons . Hank Williams . Legendary Stardust Cowboy . Wilco Johnson . White Stripes . Neil Young.Born in somebody else's head the Jack Shites have thrown out the Bert Weedon Bible and bought a new chainsaw. Stripped to the basics and recorded through the built-in mic of an e mac, their recordings lack any of the constraints of hi-tec and play happily in the metaphorical garage.Currently finishing off editing a video for their song Johnny Cash, which features over 50 Johnny Cash appearances.Currently listening to Nick Cave as usual, but dabbling with Ray Lamontagne, Tindersticks, the Decemberists and lots of other stuff that in no way influences their music
Sounds Like: Somebody playing guitar with lots of reverb. Also sounds like white
