About Me

Grave Cowboys have come up for air with a new line-up of players to bring their gritty, homespun rock, oddball country, and brand-specific circus poetry back to the S.E. Pennsylvania music scene. Put your hats up boys, see if they shoot.
Just The Way You Like It
Spiced lightly with a pinch or two,
of oily limerick and sage haiku.
How do you like it?
Medium raw. Why? Because,
it's against the law.
GC have been dawdling around the Delaware Valley music scene since 2000. They are fronted by songwriter/stonemason Ben Purscell who when the lights go up assumes his stage persona, "Dusty Mason". A self-employed stonemason whose alarm clock goes off at 5:30 am, Ben gets Dusty to do the heavy lifting required in this role.
Put some snap in your crack, check out the tunes, then BOOK US!!!
Call (215) 262-3583, ask for Dusty.
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((O)))))))) )))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
1996- Ben Purscell is recognized as Bucks County, Pennsylvania's Poet Laureate (runner-up).
2002- Grave Cowboys open for Drive-By Truckers (We've ARRIVED!!! when's the next bus? Hey guys? .....wait up.)
2003- Our song "Megalopolis" is used by NPR for their nationally broadcast, automotive advice radio call-in show "Car Talk"
2006- GC work with Steve Garvey of The Buzzcocks on a few recordings, open for Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen. Dusty Mason is invited to participate in the Saint John VI Songwriters Festival, Ben tags along.
2007- Dusty makes Ben quit his work as a stonemason, denounce all forms of hobo-phobia, and hit the road.
