Space Elation

About Me

Space Elation was a fusion rock jazz band formed by myself Bill Mooney, Chaz Hand Klaus L. We were all part of a music change back in the 80s that was takingits course through Seattle Wa. All three of us were from New York and picking upsome quality musician's from the Seattle area we formed Space Elation. Goingthrough the ups and downs of band commitment, and gigging, we did pretty good.We played the local bar circuit. Some of our bettergigs we did were the Seattle Center and the city an state colleges in a 100 milelimit around Seattle. Fast forward to the now. I relocated to New York and Chazwho I'm still in touch with and who is a fantastic drummer and percussioniststill lives in Seattle. We are working on putting some new songs together. Themagic of the Internet. What is on this site is original demo songs I wrote andstill working on. I've been working with a drum machine and multi track softwarethat I have on my computer. What I'm looking for here is feed back and thepossibility of meeting musicians to have a meeting of the minds of music. ..

Influences: I've listen to so much music over the years I believe it all has had an influence on my playing. One person who I'd like to give credit to is Don Mock from Seattle WA. I first saw Don and his band at the Seattle Center in the late 70s. His guitar playing was just fantastic. Dishing out fast smooth fusion licks he captured your ears. I was one of the lucky ones in Seattle at the time I was able to get 10 lessons from Don. It was one of those where you had to audition to even get the lessons. I guess I passed the audition I got my lessons! This was right before he went to LA to open GIT. Those were by-far the best lessons I ever had in my life. Don cuts through all the BS and gives you the meat of the music, the workings of the guitar and how to apply it. Still to this day I have seen many video lessons and Dons approach still holds King to them all. He has and still influences and inspires me. Don is good but I guess there's a few others who might have influenced me over the years. Fusion Rock Jazz was a heavy influence for years along with 70s and 80s Rock Grunge and some Metal. I like music that puts a bit of effort into it and a dash of Love! Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Return to Forever, Pat Metheny Steve Morse, Mike Stern Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaugh, Stevie Via, John Mclaughlin, Al Dimeola, Carlos Santana, Frank Gambale, Eddie Van Halen, George Lynch, Richie Sambora, Some Bands, Steely Dan, Alice in Chains, Dream Theater, Nirvana, STP, Army of Anyone, Incubus, Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd, RTF and on n on
