Influences: I've listen to so much music over the years I believe it all has had an influence on my playing. One person who I'd like to give credit to is Don Mock from Seattle WA. I first saw Don and his band at the Seattle Center in the late 70s. His guitar playing was just fantastic. Dishing out fast smooth fusion licks he captured your ears. I was one of the lucky ones in Seattle at the time I was able to get 10 lessons from Don. It was one of those where you had to audition to even get the lessons. I guess I passed the audition I got my lessons! This was right before he went to LA to open GIT. Those were by-far the best lessons I ever had in my life. Don cuts through all the BS and gives you the meat of the music, the workings of the guitar and how to apply it. Still to this day I have seen many video lessons and Dons approach still holds King to them all. He has and still influences and inspires me. Don is good but I guess there's a few others who might have influenced me over the years. Fusion Rock Jazz was a heavy influence for years along with 70s and 80s Rock Grunge and some Metal. I like music that puts a bit of effort into it and a dash of Love!
