Alexander Veljanov is the unique voice of Deine Lakaien.
In 1985 the former film and theatre history student starts the project Deine Lakaien together with Ernst Horn. Since then the band became a legend in the German music scene. One of the reasons is certainly Alexander Veljanov’s voice.
He is reaching the audience deep in their hearts with his, sometimes warm and soft, sometimes aggressive and impressive voice; no matter if he is singing live on stage or on one of his records.
Veljanov is not just performing as guest singer in several bands and projects. Start of the 90th he is singer of the band "Run Run Vanguard" from Berlin. Contrary to the electronic music of Deine Lakaien, Run Run Vanguard was a band with guitar-driven rock sounds. The first solo album of Alexander Veljanov "Secret Of The Silver Tongue" also comes up with regular band instrumentation, guitar, bass and drums.
It is not possible to pigeonhole his music in one genre. As already for the first one, for his second album “The Sweet Life” he is also working together with Dave Young (producer of John Cale and David Bowie). Unlike the first one, this album includes some electronic aspects, not in the Deine Lakaien style but as "Veljanov Sound" extensions.
The album "The Sweet Life" includes not just English, but also German and Macedonian songs. He is expanding singing techniques and vocal aspects with different languages. Good examples are some of the latest releases: "Vivre" (in French) from the Deine Lakaien album "April Skies" and the German song "Lied für Anabell Lee" available on the sampler "Visionen/E.A. Poe".
Instead of meeting clichés and expectations, Alexander Veljanov expresses his own musical ways with Deine Lakaien as well as with his solo projects.

Alexander Veljanov ist die unverwechselbare Stimme von Deine Lakaien.
Im Jahr 1985 rief der damalige Student der Theater- und Filmwissenschaften zusammen mit Ernst Horn das Projekt ins Leben. Seitdem hat sich die Band zu einer festen Größe in der deutschen Musiklandschaft entwickelt und ein Grund dafür ist auch der Gesang von Alexander Veljanov.
Er transportiert mal gefühlvoll, mal aggressiv oder voller Druck die Stimmungen der Songs direkt in die Ohren und Herzen der Zuhörer. Ob Live auf der Bühne oder auf Tonträger macht dabei keinen Unterschied.
Alexander Veljanov trat nicht nur als Gastsänger bei verschiedenen Bands und Projekten in Erscheinung. Er begeisterte Anfang der 90er Jahre als Sänger der Berliner Band "Run Run Vanguard". Diese stand mit ihrem harten, erdigen Gitarrensound im krassen Gegensatz zur Elektronik von Deine Lakaien. Auch Alexander Veljanovs erstes Soloalbum "Secret Of The Silver Tongue" wartete mit klassischer Bandbesetzung an Gitarre, Bass und Schlagzeug auf.
Der Sänger lässt sich nicht auf einen Stil festlegen und arbeitet auch auf seinem zweiten Album "The Sweet life" wieder mit Dave Young (u. a. Produzent von John Cale und David Bowie) zusammen. Diesmal gab es auch ein wenig Elektronik zu hören, aber nicht als Lakaien Anleihe, sondern als Ergänzung zum eigenen "Veljanov Sound".
Auf "The Sweet Life" sind nicht nur Stücke in Englisch, sondern auch in Deutsch und Mazedonisch zu hören. Der Sänger versteht es mit den verschiedenen Sprachen seinen stimmlichen Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten noch weitere Facetten hinzuzufügen. Beispiele dafür finden sich auch auf den neuesten Veröffentlichungen, "Vivre" in Französisch auf dem Deine Lakaien Album "April Skies" und auch mit dem in Deutsch gesungenen "Lied für Anabell Lee" für den Sampler "Visionen/E.A. Poe ".
Anstatt Klischees und Erwartungshaltungen zu bedienen geht Alexander Veljanov seine eigenen musikalischen Wege, sowohl mit Deine Lakaien als auch mit seinen Solo-Projekten.

Alexander Veljanov est la voix unique de Deine Lakaien.
En 1985, l’ancien étudiant en Théâtre et Film débute le projet nommé Deine Lakaien avec Ernst Horn. Depuis ce temps-là le groupe est devenu une légende dans la scène musicale Allemande. Une des raison principale est la voix d’Alexander Veljanov. Il touche au plus profond le c--ur des spectateurs avec sa voix tantôt chaude et douce, tantôt agressive et impressionnante; et ce qu’il chante sur scène ou en studio pour l’un de ces disques.
Veljanov ne participe pas seulement en tant que chanteur occasionnel dans différents groupes ou projets, au début des années 90, il est aussi le chanteur du groupe berlinois « Run Run Vanguard ». À l’opposé de la musique électronique de Deine Lakaien, Run Run Vanguard était un groupe très orienté sur les sons de guitares. Aussi, le premier album solo d’Alexander Veljanov, « Secret Of The Silver Tongue», a été orchestré de manière plus traditionnelle, guitare, basse et percussions.
Ce n’est pas possible de classer sa musique dans une seule catégorie. Pour le premier album comme pour le second, « The Sweet Life », il travailla avec Dave Young (producteur de John Cale et de David Bowie). En opposition avec son premier album, cet album inclus une partie électronique, non pas dans le style Deine Lakaien mais plus dans le « style sonore » de Veljanov.
L’album « The Sweet Life » n’inclut pas seulement des titres en Anglais, mais aussi en Allemand et en Macédonien. Il combine les techniques de chant et les aspects vocaux en différentes langues. De bons exemples parmi les derniers titres sont « Vivre » (en Français) de l’album de Deine Lakaien « April Skies » et le titre en Allemand « Lied für Anabell Lee » disponible sur le sampler « Visionen/E.A. Poe ».
Au lieu de respecter les clichés et suivre les expectations, Alexander Veljanov choisi une façon plus personnelle d’exprimer sa musicalité avec Deine Lakaien et ses projets solo.

En el año 1985, en aquel entonces, estudiante de arte dramático junto con Ernst Horn, debutó con el proyecto llamado Deine Lakaien. Desde entonces se ha convertido en un grupo de referencia en el escenario musical alemán. Una de las razones principales es la voz de Alexander Veljanov.
Llega a los corazones del público con su voz unas veces cargada de sentimiento, otras veces agresiva e impresionante; independientemente de si canta en directo o se le escuche en uno de sus discos.
Alexander Veljanov no se presentó solamente como cantante invitado en distintos grupos y proyectos; ya causó entusiasmo a comienzos de los años 90, siendo el cantante del grupo berlinés “Run Run Vanguard”. Al contrario de la música electrónica de Deine Lakaien, el grupo se inclinaba más por la gran variedad acústica de la guitarra. El primer trabajo de Alexander Veljanov en solitario “Secrets Of The Silver Tongue”, también fue presentado en el tradicional reparto instrumental con guitarra, bajo y percusiones.
El vocalista no se compromete en un estilo musical determinado. Para su segundo trabajo “The Sweet Life”, así como en el primero, contó con la colaboración de Dave Young, (productor de John Cale y David Bowie entre otros). A diferencia de su primer disco, esta vez incluía fragmentos electrónicos, pero no en la variante ya conocida de Deine Lakaien, sino como una extensión del propio estilo de Veljanov. En “The Sweet Life”, aparte de las canciones en inglés, también encontramos una pieza cantada en alemán y otra en macedonio.
Sabe combinar técnicas de canto con las diferentes características vocales de distintas lenguas. Buenos ejemplos pueden oírse en las más recientes publicaciones; el tema en francés “Vivre” del álbum “April Skies” de Deine Lakaien, y también el alemán “Lied für Anabell Lee”, disponible en la colección “Visionen/E.A. Poe”.
En vez de satisfacer los estereotipos y las expectativas, Alexander Veljanov ha optado por seguir su propio camino musical, tanto con Deine Lakaien, como sus proyectos en solitario.
