No. 3 killer.
$200 could deliver our innovative 30-minute
CPR program to 10 community residents,
who can pass the lifesaving skill to others.
$300 could provide our Recipes for the
Heart cookbook to 75 people.
$500 could teach more than 1,200 children
how to avoid obesity and live longer,
stronger lives through our nutrition and
exercise materials.
$1,000 could introduce 500 women to our
Go Red For Women movement and
empower them to take charge of their
heart health.
$5,000 could provide our cultural health
program, Search Your Heart, to 10 African-
American or Latino/Hispanic places of
worship, reaching 3,000 people with heart
disease and stroke prevention information.
$10,000 could bring seven heart disease
or stroke survivors to our annual Heart and
Stroke Lobby Day in Washington, D.C. to
educate decision-makers about issues that
affect the nation’s cardiovascular health.

The Go Red For Women Movement
The GRFW movement was created for women to band together and create awarenes through wearing the Red Dress Pin. National Wear Red Day is the first Friday of February every year. Encouraging to wear red that day. Millions of Americans, men and women, will wear red to show their comitment to the fight against heart disease in women.

The Heart of Caregiving
In early 2006 the American Heart Association developed a new web site dedicated 100% to the needs of caregivers.
For those who are family caregivers dealing with heart disease and stroke. The site offers resources, forums and much more. This past Spring/Summer 2006 the caregiver website was honored with a World Wide Web Health Award.
