Sven Kacirek is a drummer/composer/producer who lives in Hamburg.
He studied at the Drummers Collective in New York City and at the Hoogeschool voor de kunsten in Arnhem. After two years of studies at Arnhem, he left the school and moved from Netherlands to Hamburg.
He played at the World Drum Festival in 2000 and 2001 and wrote two books about the application of programmed beats to the acoustic drumset. Together with Uwe Haas he formed the project "field" that published one EP and two albums.
In the last two years Sven has played different projects for the portugeese choreographer Angela Guerreiro and a choreographer from Cologne called Silke Z.
His first Solo Album "The Palmin Sessions" will be published in february 2007 by pingipung/Kompakt, A-Musik. Sven´s music could be most nearly compared to the wide genre of electronic music, though he plays all of the instruments live.live
