Created in 1999 in the deep heart of the Medina of Marrakech and in Soho, New York, KamarStudios has been dedicated to create a new minimal flavor in meeting with the eons old trance music of the Gnawa, Servants Of The Invisible. KamarStudios introduced the minimal electro sound in Morocco at that time.
KamarStudios released its first album 'Marrakech Undermoon - The Black Album' in 2006 (3 CD + 1 CD-Rom including for the first time ever translations in french and english of the Gnawa Sacred Trances) before the next six to come... as the Seven Colors of the Gnawa universe.
DJ Zitroz, its co-founder, spins minimal and a special flavor/mix of house, electro-house, and progressive with a sophisticated african touch. Zitroz (Khalid Icame) began to mix in 2000 with a minimal sound that was anticipation of what sounds every day more one of the most creative music movement.
DJ Zitroz had several residencies in Pacha Marrakech (opening of the Cherry Sundays and with Radio FG Paris), in Vynil Paris, Platinium Skhirat Morocco, White Room Marrakech, and he is the soundesigner, with philippe Lauro-Baranes, of some 60 VIP private and corporate events' soundesigns in Morocco and Overseas these two past years.
The Gnawa Band, Ouled Kamar, The Sons of the Moon, Servants Of The Invisible, is composed of four masters musicians and eighteen dancers and singers. Maâlems (Masters of Music) Larfaoui Baska, Merchane, Amllil and Damir lead the band of the Gnawa, Servants of The Invisible. They attended several worlwide festivals over the years.
DJ Zitroz and KamarStudios will open their new monthly residency in Théâtro Marrakech on March 24th 2007. The Sons of The Moon, Servants of The Invisible, are invited in June by the Sacred Music Festival in Fes on June7th while beginning to fly oversea...
