Juliette Jazz has been singing professionally for over twenty years in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. She had singing lessons during her teens, and when she left school she formed a duo and began singing the club circuits. At 18, Juliette joined a band called Riff Rapt and played regularly in clubs and pubs in Brisbane city. At age 22 she moved to the Sunshine Coast and performed the role of Eponine in Les Miserables and joined a talented, crazy group of jingle writers and performers for a singing telegram business. At 23, she formed a duo called Menage and sang at various venues and corporate functions and conventions. She competed in (and won) many singing competions, and was noticed at one and offered a job of karaoke compere, which she went on to do as a residency for 3 years. She was a part-time compere for several other karaoke companies on the Coast as well. Juliette joined the Jazz Action Society to be able to join in on jam sessions with various jazz bands, and became the secretary/promotions girl for the club. She worked for 5 years as a singing/dancing waitress at Velvet Waters Rock and Roll Restaurant and then moved on to be the resident singer at Jerome's restaurant (7 years). She has a repertoire of over 400 songs, ranging from Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Carol King, Karen Carpenter, Bonnie Tyler, through to more modern singers such as: Christina Aguilera, Robbie Williams, Missy Higgins, Jet, Kelly Clarkson, Nelly Furtado, and Michael Buble.Juliette rarely performs live anymore, choosing to focus her attention on song writing and recording, with the ultimate goal to make an album of her own original songs.
So far, most of the recordings Juliette has made, are basic home computer recordings, and only meant for demo purposes, but she plans to choose the top 15 songs when they are completed, to re-record professionally. Juliette is always seeking composers and musicians to assist her in collaborating with the songwriting. Juliette writes the lyrics and will record the vocals if required, but she needs somebody to compose the melody, or chord progression. She has written over 80 song lyrics and recorded over 30 songs, some of which are displayed in the Reverbnation player below.
