About Me

I'm an archivist and fiber artist and live in the first Fair Trade community in the US. My husband Kevin is a software engineer/amateur filmmaker . We live in a cottage in the woods and have great neighbors. For 10 years I have participated in the Art Party -- a group of friends who have dinner once a month and critique each other work. ..

My Interests

Fiber art -- some artists I like are Magdelena Abakanowicz, Lenore Tawney, Sheila Hicks, Ed Rossbach, and Lissa Hunter. I'm also into Central Asian textiles , African-American quilts, and contemporary sculptors, especially Eva Hesse, Louise Bourgeois, Rebecca Horn, and Andy Goldsworthy .
Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts, Dada/Surrealism, + other avant-garde movements -- I'm interested in creative people who lived btw. the Victorian era and WW II -- Antoni Gaudi, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Margaret Macdonald , Sophie Tauber, Max Ernst, Hannah Hoch, Constantin Brancusi, Joseph Cornell, Maya Deren.
