About Me

Paul and Kim have been playing music together since the first time they met. A few years after they were married, they took up the study and performance of folk music from the 19th century and before. Since 1995 they have performed at historic sites and festivals in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Virginia, and Illinois, to name a few.But don't think they're limited to strictly historical pursuits. Paul and Kim have a large repertoire that includes non-period folk and acoustic music as well. In addition, the pair also study Middle Eastern music, and Kim is an amateur belly dancer.

Influences: We like just about everything except freeform jazz, but some of our favorite people are John Prine, Guy Clark, the Beatles, Riders in the Sky, Stephen Foster, Bruce Greene, Bruce Molsky, Tom Petty, Ian Tyson, Tom Russell, Cherish the Ladies, the Chieftains, Jed Marum, Elton John, Sarah McLachlan, Train, Rosemary Clooney, Turku, Raquy and the Cavemen, the Gipsy Kings, Bond, and pretty much anything composed before 1865, including bawdy songs from the Renaissance.
