Streetwave is a movement whose chief values are freedom and the enjoyment of life. Streetwavers are ALL who seek more from life than a degree and a paycheck. We don't fear education or employment, but we refuse to let our lives end with just that. We are the future. Punks and hippies, squares and hipsters, children and human adults, the creation of beautiful simple new ideas through the fusion of old ways... Streetwave is all of this and more.
The streetwave creed falls somwhere between "fun is awesome" and "whose streets? our streets!." We only have one life to live and we should enjoy it and make a difference. We believe the two are not mutually exclusive. Streetwave does not have a certain political agenda, although we are all generally human rights activists in one form or another. (Even if it's just loving our neighbors...) STREETWAVE IS LOVE!!!
The street wave began in 1999 a fabled house in New Brunswick, 221 Livingston Ave (The Missile Silo, home of The Atomic Missiles) but has spread its wings from Brooklyn to Hollywood. Bands such as the Invincible Gods, the Band of Gold, The Imperialists, the One And Only Typicals, Killradio, Bang Sugar Bang, Eisenhower, The Randies, Camera-Head Shark, and Midway currently work to spread the gospel of a new way...
