About Me

The New York Howl formed in the depths of NYC’s downtown underground in August 2005, and by November were touring the North East Coast as the star act of The International Circus of Joy. Their eclectic energetic live shows deliver raw punk radical energy, soulful uplifting gospel, chump blues and rust belt garage rock. Their debut album, "People Will Come To See Us Ride" was self-released in August of 2006, followed immediately by a tour of England, in which they supported Jeff Lewis, and headlined at the Anti-Folk UK Summer Festival. In April 2007 they rode the box cars all the way from New York City to Austin Texas where they featured at the South By Southwest music conference, later stepping off to England to play a 2-week sold-out tour supporting Mr. Jamie T and The Pacemakers, with 12 shows in 13 days. "Brit Rock Beware! They will rock your world!" (Times, London), "These guys can REALLY play", (New York Press), "Reckless yet driving rock n roll with strong blues underpinnings." (Time Out NYC), "...the best breakout band at last year’s CMJ music fest..." (TWI.com, NYC), "...an instant classic album - a body blow landed squarely by the raw momentum of a band just discovering itself and realizing its potential for epic greatness." (The Deli Magazine, NYC) ..
