About Me

Bradshaw is reggae’s best kept secret. Rochelle is the proud owner of a powerful, unique voice that’s sweeter than a hummingbird, and her mesmerizing rendition of songs from her forthcoming album (New Creation Records) leaves the listener breathless…wanting, yearning, begging for more. Rochelle Bradshaw now lives in Arkansas, USA but she was groomed in Portland, Jamaica. She comes from a family of prominent Jamaican musicians. Her father was the legendary Anthony Bradshaw and her uncle, Devon Bradshaw is a performing artist with many years of touring experience with Burning Spear. So it was little wonder that Rochelle embraced singing from an early age, and by the time she was thirteen years old, she was already a member of her local church choir, her school choir and a community based band. Perseverance and a passion for music soon drove Rochelle from her quiet, sheltered life in Port Antonio to the hustle and bustle of the resort town of Ocho Rios where she quickly became a sought-after vocalist for various bands, playing at the Plantation Inn and the Shaw Park Beach Resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. From her new base in Ocho Rios, many new opportunities unfolded for Rochelle. As it happened, Irie FM had a recording studio nearby and reggae producer Barry O’Hare quickly recognized her extraordinary gift and enlisted her for recording sessions. From the Irie FM’s studio, she did a number of singles on her own and she also did backup vocals for Garnet Silk, Luciano, Chakademus & Pliers and Burning Spear. Recordings with Anthony B, Sizzla and Iley Dread followed. Before long, the songbird from Portland was touring the world with some of Jamaica’s hottest artists, making stops in Japan, Canada, the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Africa and all across the Caribbean area. “Touring has been a tremendously rewarding experience for me”, she commented. “It has enabled me to learn about the true scope of reggae music, and some of my happiest times have been on the road, touching and enriching the lives of total strangers along the way”, she continued. Rochelle describes herself as a humble roots daughter, cool mellow and easy-going. Surprisingly, this hypnotic collection of songs is her first album project, given the fact that she has worked on so many albums for chart-topping artists. Her vocals are featured on the Grammy winning Burning Spear album, Calling Rastafari. She writes her own lyrics and the themes in her songs are about her own life experiences. She puts no particular brand or description to her music except to say it is soulful, hard-hitting and powerful reggae. The titles on her upcoming album include Overstanding, Oil and Powder and Hey Mister, and the album features collaborations with singing sensation Tarrus Riley as well as Plucky Ranks and Duane Stephenson. Rochelle is thrilled with the outcome of her debut album. “I feel happy and excited by this new effort, and I feel blessed to have been able to work with some great musicians on this project. I am very proud of all the songs that I am about to present to the world”, she beamed. For her, the sky is the limit and she hopes that many years from now, her music will remain as impactful and as relevant as it is today.
