Born in the beautiful Parish of St. Mary, Jamaica as Asher on December 2, with a maximum of fifteen (15) years experience, came the birth of Geoffrey Star Forrest.
Geoffrey Star, formally known as Rich Kid started to show his talent at the age of thirteen (13) years, doing school concerts and private functions.In his early days he played one of the most popular sound system, Silver Hawk, owned by producer Steelie from Steelie and Clevie fame.
During that time Geoffrey alongside classmate Troy Wilson, drummer for DJ Bounty Killer, Travis 'RED RAT' Wilson, Robert Browne bass player for Reggae Superstar 'SHAGGY' and Richard Browne popularly known as Shams, came together to form a band called POSITIVE CREW.In 1992, Geoffrey was introduced to Christopher "Grammy" Meredith, bass player for Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. More opportunities came for Geoffrey when he started to do engineering. He recorded some of Jamaicas most popular reggae artist such as Dennis Brown, John Holt, Bunny Wailer and Bunny Ruggs to name a few.
He then met singer, songwriter, musician and producer Michael "MIKEY SPICE" Johnson, and did songs like: 'I DONT KNOW' featuring Niki Burt and 'I'VE GOT HEAVEN' on the Ingredience label. These songs showcased his melodious sound and attest to his writing ability.
His versatility is exemplified with his combination with Shabba Ranks, CONSIGNMENT remix and Jahmel in MASTERBUILDER.Geoffrey did a number of harmonies both in studio and on stage for popular reggae artiste like: Bunny Wailer, Marcia Griffiths, Mikey Spice, Burning Spear, Glen Washington and Bunny Ruggs to name a few.
He went touring Europe in 2002 with Mighty Diamonds, Wayne Wonder, Fred Locks and Lady Saw.
During that time transformation would occur when he did a single with Brinzley Forde of Aswad, song entitled 'ARE YOU THINKING WHAT IM THINKING'.
His latest releases are entitled 'IM SORRY' and 'PICTURE ME AND YOU' on Don Corleons DROP LEAF & SEASONS Rhythm), which is getting a reasonable amount of airplay. Hes now presently in the studios creating an album. LOOK OUT.
