Chrisinti as he is now called, a name taken on by himself and given meaning “Selassi I Child†participated in his school fetes and concerts in his community from the early age of 6. He attended the Marverly All Age Primary School a stone throw from home until he approached the high school years.
Chrisinti's high school experience came from Pembrook Hall Comprehensive, where he gathered more ammunition by way of writing skills and presentation. By leaving school he was absolutely sure of his intentions of becoming a singer. To pursue his career in music he had to make sure to know all he could. He began to travel from studio to studio hoping for recognition from a recognized producer. His first real opportunity came from Richard Bell who produced his first recording entitled “Aware of Drugs†for Star Trail Recording Label. Chrisinti was now on his way to realizing his early days dream. One day while conducting a session at the Mixing Lab Studio in Kingston, a stranger came into the studio. Chrisinti noticed this person watching him throughout the time he was there. When the session was over he was asked to join this person who turned out to be the president of Kings of Kings Recording Company, Iley Dread, who was visiting Jamaica looking for new talent. Chrisinti was later signed to this company and began to records songs such as “False Hype†a combination with Jah Mason, “Shine Your Light†another combination with Louie Culture. This was no mishap for Chrisinti.
His first live performance came by way of a heavily built show cast at the Reggae Show “Fire on the Wharf†in Black River, St. Elizabeth in April l997. This performance heralded the entrance of an artiste certainly set to make a difference in reggae music. In an era where quality music and singers seem to be sparse, hope can be found in this singer called Chrisinti. His Rastafari faith has placed him firmly on the entertainment map. Blessed with a polished silky voice Chrisinti delivers songs in a smooth and confident manner that commands the listener's attention.
Chrisinti has since recorded a number of songs for other labels including “King From The East†on the Triple R. All these songs have been gaining the artiste more and more recognition. He is presently putting the finishing touches on his debut album due to be release in August 2000 for Kings of Kings a company based in Canada, which he is signed to. Singles released from his upcoming album are “Dreaming of a New Tomorrow†and the latest “No More Rain†a popular cover destined to do great things.
Chrisinti says he is heavily influenced by his Rastafarian levity, a faith he has embraced since 1995, he is uncompromising in saying, “Rastafari is everything to my music, and through this medium I have gained all my inspiration†He is also very appreciative of the important role the music loving supporters have played in his career and looks forward to continued support from his old fans and the new fans to come as he strives for bigger and brighter success. “I promise to continue to produce good music for the listener shipâ€
