Honoring the straight-ahead trumpet tradition!

About Me

Born in Rome, Italy and immigrated to the US as a child in 1950. Lived in Spain, France, Italy and Puerto Rico, and found myself in Alliance, Ohio at 12 years of age. There, I discovered the trumpet and have had that passion ever since! Product of Alliance, Ohio High School music program (in the 60s). Went on to the University of Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music (70s). Was a professional "section trumpet" for many Hotel house bands and local TV shows; backed up the likes of Sammy Davis, Ertha Kit and Dean Martin. Became a lawyer in 1978 and quit music for 10 years until re-discovered an affinity for jazz improvisation and small group straight-ahead jazz. Played with many big and bands in the Washington DC metro area; to include a short stint as the lead trumpet player w/the Thad Wilson Jazz Big Band (at the One-Step-Down in Georgetown). While in DC, studied trumpet and jazz with two local greats - Scott Holbert and Tom Palance. Became interested in recording studio engineering and created CTS Records Studio in Fort Washinton, MD.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

I've just released my latest CD titled "TrumpetAmericana". It's a tribute to the golden era of the 1950's. It's currently for sale at CD Baby.com for $7.97 for the downloads or $9.97 for the CD.

Band Members: Are currently in flux, but have used many of the local musicians in the DC metro area - to name a few - John Holland (piano); Tom Palance and Scott Holbert (trumpet); Fritz Duval (now deceased) on Piano, base and guitar; Joey Colon (Base), Nasser Abadey (drums); James Cotton (tenor sax); and many, many others.
Influences: First and foremost Doc Severinsen and Maynard Ferguson. Miles Davis; Kenny Dorham; Clifford Brown; Freddie Hubbard; and more recently, Wynton Marsalis; Tom Harrell; and Claudio Roditi, just to name a few.
Sounds Like: Hope to be a fraction of Clifford Brown and Kenny Dorham!
