Since the age of 14 years old I knew I wanted to achieve great things. I always wanted to think and live outside the box of the society’s perception of normality e.g. working 9-5, sweating to pay off mortgages... blah blah blah. After many ventures and pursuits in IT and Sales, I realised my calling was in music and media entertainment. At 14 I formed a boy group named Vibin 4 which I was also part of. Performing at various shows around London and finally appointing a manager, we were offered a contract overseas but the parents were having none of it as we were all still completing school. This was to be a short-lived act and we eventually went our separate ways. By the age of 17 I had been in five various boy groups and soon realised the people I was working with were not as focused and determined to make things happen as me.I decided to cut my teeth into music production, as I didn’t fancy my chances as a solo act!!!After begging, borrowing and stealing from family and friends I bought my first music set up for my bedroom consisting of a Korg Trinity keyboard and Mac G4. It was here I studied all the top producers (Teddy Riley, Neptunes, Darkchild and Timbaland) and started to craft my own sound. I produced demos for various friends at college. A college friend managed to have one of my demos played on Choice FM, which was heard by an EMI subsidiary company executive who in turn offered me an internship. There I worked there for a few months producing and remixing for various artists. After working long hours and no returns, I moved onto another independent label. It was here I would learn my most fundamental skills and all round experience of the music industry. My working week was 50 hours in return for a wage of £400!! But the experience paid off as I learnt the art of producing, writing, mixing, engineering and getting the best out of an artist from a commercial perspective. Additionally I was promoted to company manager at the age of 21 in which I learnt the music business. After a few years of hard service, I realised I could only go so far and wanted to push myself to the limits of opportunities, so I set out by myself and created Double Edge Music in 2003Starting off producing for up and coming artist along with a team of producers, this slowly led to producing and remixing for artist on major labels. This work eventually dried up and I was twiddling thumbs once again. I decided to turn Double Edge into a production company in which undiscovered artist would be signed and artistically developed, ready for a major label signing. The company now has a management, production and promotion team and has three artists all with major interest.www.myspace.com/officialrhea www.myspace.com/guybrazil www.myspace.com/thisislogicDespite the many challenges and setbacks faced over the years to meet my aspirations: studio property closures x 2, near nervous breakdowns, attempted business sabotages, Double Edge Music is now going through to phase two. With a new TV series for major broadcasting about to be filmed and my media training business Moving Base Training’s annual turnover increasing and working on a £250,000 project, sky is truly the limit.Cool Stuff at BlingJam.com
