About Me

Musically I’d say I’m a blend of commercial pop with hard-edge RnB and a few extras thrown in due to my love of different genres. Working with different producers and musicians has allowed me to change this often attempted style making it my own flavour: Introducing to you… Rhea.Born in 1987, my itch for entertaining was clearly evident from an early age. I knew my path was unquestionably musical success! I under went the usual after school and Saturday morning routine of performing arts classes. It was then I honed my skills in singing, dancing and drama, giving me the opportunity to perform on TV programmes such as GMTV, the BBC's Blue Peter and whole host of children’s programmes and high profile music videos. In addition I’ve performed in various events and shows at Westminster Abbey, The Christmas and New Year Parades, The Queen Elizabeth Halls, Fairfield Halls and even the chance to perform for the Queen. At 16, I enrolled at the Brit School, where I studied musical theatre (which probably added another ingredient to my larger than life, drama queen style personality! Lol) In 2005 I was picked for a new girl group via auditions held at the Brit School by Double Edge Music. The group eventually broke up, but DE was keen to sign me for a solo development deal due to my determination, talent and commitment to become a successful recording artist. Also the fact that I’m damn hard to shake off! From that signing I gained interest from major labels, began recording my debut album and performed numerous gigs around the UK at venues such as Soho Revue bar, Madame JoJo’s and Bar Rumba. During this time I also made it to the finals of Hugo Boss Urban rules, where I got to take part in different workshops and master classes lead by industry professionals such as Mervyn Lynn, Amy Winehouse and Steve Sutherland. However Doubleedge and I eventually went our separate ways.Taking things into my own hands I studied for a year at Vocaltech, part of the tech music schools giving me the knowledge and skills to write and arrange my own music. Here I also got the chance to work with and meet many different talented musicians, where I learnt a lot about who I was musically and artistically. (Without trying to sound too la-di-dah!) Being one of the artists chosen for our graduation, I got the chance to perform at the one and only Shepherds bush Empire! Vocaltech is also where I met four members of my amazing band that I am working and gigging with currently at different venues across the country. I strive to produce an undeniably rich sound, with strong angelic vocals that are set against innovative pop/rnb with influences of other musical realms that continue to push the boundaries of pop music. Don’t take my word for it. Let the music play, then… Rhealise!
