Liz Cucheran, composer, vocalist, and keyboard player has been singing since before she could speak. "Music has always been my passion and from the first time I was in a recording studio I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life recording!"
While Liz had been writing her own music, performing at weddings and funerals as well as being in both church and in community choirs, she was relatively unknown outside of her small church circle. "While my musical background has been shaped by the church, and some of my music incorporates God into it, I wouldn't label my music as "Christian" music. I think my songs are about issues that everyone can relate to - no matter their view on God or who their 'higher power' may be. My songs are about life... period."
She has toured with choirs all over Canada and through parts of Europe but always as a member of a choir. Yet in the back of her mind she longed for her own songs to find their way into the hearts of people all over the world. “I absolutely love singing in choirs but always dreamed of being a solo artist."
The possibility to record as a solo artist presented itself through a woman at church who connected Liz with the opportunity to attend workshops and record with various Vancouver artists on a compilation CD funded through the "Get Out Grants" and with the help of Gab, and Rock Beach Recording Studio!
The demo samples which can be previewed on this site were recorded in White Rock, BC at the Rock Beach Recording Studio and mixed by Gab Lawrence of Defected Productions. The amazing band accompaning her consisted of Jim Cucheran - drums, Justin Falconer - electric guitar, Darrin Greene - Bass, and Tom Heath - acoustic guitar.
She is currently unsigned with any label but is busy writing more songs for a full length CD project coming up! Keep an eye open for her.
