So, what should I right I ask myself? Anyone that knows me will probably know me and would be able to describe me a lot better then I can describe myself. So, I am here having a go at doing me for once(He He).
I love music…To be honest with you, music is MY LIFE(Yes, we have all heard that one many of times before... I Know).
At weekends I can more then likely be seen out and about in club land or just networking in general for work(excuses/excuses aye).
I don't just love listening to music, I love to dance to it(When I can be bothered) and just generally associate to it by meeting up with the girls for a drink and a natter.
I am a proper night owl, up till 4am in the morning and out of bed at errr, I am personally ashamed to say it…??.. So, on a level, I won’t go there!
I would describe myself as a perfectionist, not just with my own self but with my work as well.
I love to go shopping but then again, what women doesn't?I'm a very loyal person and I don't like un loyal people. I've experienced that alot in my life but mainly to do with my career and the people I have worked with over the years, I’m being real here and I don’t give a dam!(That is something that JARS me about people in general BIG TIME).
Anyway, I would say I am a very honest person, I think that most of the time, I am too honest for my own good but, it tends to get me into trouble which is not a good thing really at all.
I am an upfront person, the kind of person that doesn't think before she says something so again I tend to get myself into trouble.
I am a family person, although I don't really get much time to spend real quality time with my family(This is something that I have decided to work on in 2007).
My family are my life and I need to prove it to them. Without them, I wouldn't be here now!
My friends also mean the world to me, I can count on 2 hands who my real friends are!
They are the one's that are always there for me(rain or shine), the one’s that tend to listen to me more then I listen to them(That’s me being honest again).
My love of music started when I was a child, I was into the usual groups such as Take That, New Kids on the block, Bros, etc etc. However eventually over the years my taste in music changed dramatically to tell you the truth.
When I was about 15 I started getting into the likes of R Kelly, H Town, Guy, Bobby Brown, New Edition, Brandy, Jodeci, Riff(My boys), Jagged Edge…. The list is absolutely endless.
When I was about 17, I started getting into Jungle and could be found bopping my head to some serious serious jungle @ places such as Lazerdrome in Peckham(My 2nd home at the time/Big up Sonia/My 2nd Mum), Astoria, Camden Palace, Hippodrome. Nights such as Telepathy, Roast, Jungle Feva, Jungle Mania, Orange, Desert Storm plus loads more! If you can’t dance just nod your head(Am I bringing back some memories now).Anyway, after about 5/6 years of raving to Jungle, the scene started to change(as with all scenes’) and I started to listen to garage. At first some of my friends said it was gay music, but I absolutely loved it.
I was always out at clubs such as; Gas Club, Camden Palace, Leisure Lounge, Coliseum, The End and so on.
Nights such as; Twice As Nice, Lords Of The Underground, Cream Of Da Crop, Experience, Sun City were all nights that I use to attend with my girls.
After about a year going out and getting into garage as well as knowing the faces, I was offered a job by DJ Spoony from the Dreem Teem. He has always said that he saw the passion I had for the music and the scene in general.
It was in Nov 1997, I started work for The Dreem Teem; DJ Spoony, Mikee B and Timmi Magic as their pa. I was looking after their diary/all their bookings, running their record label (DFL), taking care of all the promotions/events that we use to put on, running their agency that I decided to set up, answering their calls at Kiss 100 on their show at Kiss every Sunday and just their all round PA in general or partner in crime/3rd unofficial member of the Dreem Teem/alongside PSG(lol).
Working with them for 3 years was an experience that I will never forget and to this day, they are still my boys/family.
I learnt how to promote club nights, run a record label (press/promotions/A&R) etc etc, so you could say I learnt a lot as well as met a lot of new and interesting people.
In Jan 2000, I left working for the guys as I wanted to do something a bit different. I thought I wanted to get a different job in a different field but after about 2 months in bed all day every day, I decided to set up Xtreme Talent Artist Agency. So, in March 2000, Xtreme Talent was born and I haven’t looked back since(Except for all those old skool garage raves that I went to till the early hours of the next morning/Ahh, talk about memories). My agency started out as just pure garage but sooner or later R&B became popular so I started to represent some of the biggest named DJ’s and PA’s from the R&B scene and not just the garage scene. Eventually I started to do anything underground or urban as some like to call it.
Grime/Hip Hop/Rap/Dub Step/Funky House/Jungle, anything that is big in club land really!
I have worked with absolutely everyone on the garage/R&B/Grime/Hip Hop UK scene. You name them, they would have been on my agency.Luck & Neat, Master Stepz, EZ, Shola Ama, Mis-Teeq, Miss Dynamite, Dizzie Rascal, Pied Piper, Norris Da Boss Windross, Wiley, Kano, Roll Deep, SLK, Craig David, Shortee Blitz, Rampage…. Yet again, the list is absolutely endless.Coming up to date with things, I can still be found(I'm not no lost dog by the way/ha ha) out and about on the dance floor with a glass of wine in my right hand and my girls by my side.
I love my funky house at the moment and have been into in for about 3 years now so you will probably catch me in a club somewhere getting down to some funky funky funky baby!
I'm still busy running Xtreme Talent as best as I possibly can(When I haven't got no fake ass loosers in my life pulling me down/yeah.. you know who you are) as well as promoting different types of events every now and again from Funky House, Old Skool Garage or R&B(It depends on what mood I am in at the time and what type of club night I want to put on). I will tell you something though, It's not easy but then again, when has life ever been easy for the most of us?Anyway, I think that’s just about me done… Feel free to holla at me if you know me or recognise my face. It would be really good to hear from people I went to school with or have lost contact with over the years in general, after all ‘THIS IS MY SPACE BABY’ and I call it THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF MY SPACE….. Or Crack Space as they now like to call it!Anyone that would like to know about XTREME TALENT ARTIST AGENCY and the artist’s that I represent, please go to
www.myspace.com/xtremetalentP.S: I have mentioned virtually all the people in my life that mean something to me in some way shape or form and am feeling kind of guilty.
There is one person I haven not mentioned... My Dad!A message for Del Boy - (my dad); I know your watching over me and trying to help me make the best of my life and guide me in the best way possible.
I love you more then ever and you are in my thoughts every day and never forgotten. I know that if you was here now my life would be sooo different. In my heart, I know you are watching over me like my knight in shining armour. If you was here, I know 100% you would be the 'only person' that could change and turn around the things that make me sad/unhappy and turn all my negative energy into positive.I LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER AND I WILL NEVER EVER FORGET YOU! YOU WAS AND ARE STILL THE BEST DAD IN THE WORLD AND I'LL BE WITH YOU THERE IN HEAVEN ONE DAY SOON. SO MAKE SURE YOU WAIT FOR ME CAUSE I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU AND GIVE YOU A BIG KISS AND A CUDDLE. OH AND NOT FORGETTING TICKLE YOUR FEET BUT ONLY IF YOU PAY ME 20P LIKE BACK IN THE DAYS - I LOVE YOU - R.I.P!
