This is certainly self-indulgent! Oh well.

About Me

I live a good life with my wonderful husband Alan, our most precious son Jesse, and our two dogs, the wise old man Barney and the bubbly little girl Emma. I teach English as a second language to children ages 5 through 9 in a suburban public school. It's a great job, as I can act like a kangaroo or a pencil sharpener or a snowy day and in doing this, not only do I have a captive audience, but I am doing what I am supposed to in helping my students acquire English - I give them plenty to talk about. ;-) I appreciate bright and decent people who express themselves well, and who are straight and straightforward with me. If in addition to these qualities, you enjoy hot pastrami sandwiches, can make me laugh (and gosh, if you get my sense of humor!) and share at least some of my musical taste, all the better. Nowwaitaminnit, isn't this supposed to be about me? Well, you've gotten that, haven't you? ;-) Since you're here, on my space, I hope to get to know you even better than I already do. Thanks for stopping by!
Just grab a partner and dance to anything!
Sweet, sweet rewards! Two of my students.
I'm beside (well, behind) the point. :-)
Ain't technology grand??

My Interests

Music - playing, writing, listening to...I play piano and dabble in various other keyboard instruments. Singing is fun, and I am not too terrible at this. :-) I love to read, and it's an absolute necessity for me to write as often as I can. The mountains and the ocean make me very happy. I love to ski and to romp in the sea. I'm into weather, travel, and computers/webdesign. I find fascinating the ways in which animate and inanimate objects work (check out the show How It's Made on the Discovery Channel to add some ultra coolness to your day), and I am a self-admitted stickler for the really swell use of the English language. ;-)
Nantucket Island. I love this magical, beautiful, life-affirming place. High on this mountain, the clouds down below
I'm feeling so strong and alive
From this rocky perch, I'll continue the search
For the wind and the snow and the sky
Well, I want a lover and I want some friends
And I want to live in the sun
And I want to do all the things that I never have done.
~Dan Fogelberg
Rest in peace, brother in spirit.

Those who wow me. And there are plenty of 'em.
You might be one. :-)
OK, so I already met this one, on April 29, 1989. Lucky me; he's my husband. :-D
