CRISIS STORY

The name " Crisis Story " came from the story Criss Jr. tells of his father Chris Grissim losing the ability to share his musical talent with the world, and his ultimately having to choose whether or not to allow himself to be placed on life-support..Chris Sr. was an extremely talented guitar player (and singer/songwriter) who performed and was well known in the Mobile area from around 1975 until 1994, when a tragic illness (amyotropic lateral scleroris, commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig’s disease) caused him to be unable to continue performing. " Little Criss " as his family calls him, suffered greatly living through the tragedy of his father’s extended illness. Over the course of 12 years, Chris Sr.’s muscles in his entire body slowly atrophied until he finally could no longer speak or breathe on his own. The two Chris’s were very close, the father-son bond being further strengthened by a love of music. Criss was not able to visit with his dad very often after he was moved to a nursing home in the Nashville,Tennesse area, but the two corresponded and visited when they could.
