About Me

I saw the Allman Brothers Band in 1971 for four bucks and it changed my life. I use to like to get right up close to the stage at all the shows that came to the Mobile Municipal Auditorium in the 70's. I was so close at a Brownsville Station show that the bass player accidentally hit me in the back of the head with his bass! They gave me a drum stick and said sorry dude. I thought life could not get much better than that! My first gig was playing "Smokin' in the Boy's Room" at a VFW on a country bands breaks. I have never had stage fright since. I played Disco and R&B with Theodore Arthur Jr. who taught me much about being a musician for which I am forever grateful. I had to pay a fine one time for playing with nonunion musicians while backing up Scott Baio for the Hollywood Teenage road show. Scott lipsinked while we played what is now called Guitar Hero. The local should have fined me for that! I had a group called Excalibur that opened for people like Humble Pie and Greg Allman along the Gulf Coast. We were the greatest band in the world! Well, we thought we were. I was with Black Oak Arkansas 1984. Moved to Atlanta and toured and recorded with Darryl Rhoades and the Mighty Men from Glad. Was in the Tone Poets and played a little while with Chris Edmonds. Played some guitar sounds on Beverly Jo Scott's "Comin' Home" CD. My dad appears on her "Amnesty for Eve" CD. She's cool. I was a member of Kung Fu Mama and went out with Carlos Washington's Giant People and Starr Cullars Band a few years ago. I've been very fortunate to be around some great people who happen to be musicians. Thanks for stopping by.
