1967 Baby! Year I was born!I'm about Rockin' out, Hangin' out, Twist and Shout. I love Pop Culture:Books, movies, television, comics, and art but MUSIC is my passion. That and goin' to rock shows and shakin' it! I really enjoy playing music as well, listening to records, and hanging out with my friends. Favorite activities include:Reading, writing, composing, singing, and performing. In my spare time I feed the pets, clean the house and property, and play games with my nephew. Plus I waste a lot of time on myspace.com. Sometimes I visit garagepunk.com as well. I love the singing of Gerry Roslie, Mitch Ryder, Felix Cavaliere, Mark Lindsay, Micky Dolenz, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Mick Jagger, Phil May, Paul Jones, (Angry Young) Van Morrison, Eric Burdon, Keith Relf, Roger Daltry, Steve Marriot, Rod Stewart, Colin Blunstone, and Rob Tyner. All white guys but unbelievably soulful. If I could afford it, my clothing would be 60s Mod and Paisley Underground and my lifestyle would be more like that of(60s era) Ray Davies, Mick Jagger, Pete Townsend, Eric Burdon, Rod Stewart, John Lennon, and Ian Flemming (James Bond but with less danger). And I wish my dancing could be more like James Brown's and Tina Turner's.

You Belong in 1966
You are a free spirit with a huge heart. Love, peace, and happiness rule - oh, and drugs too.
What Year Do You Belong In?
I've met almost everyone who I want to meet, even Adam West. Oh, and I met Sky Saxon, not once, not twice, but three times. As for heroes:Fat chance there, most of them are dead, except Adam West. He'll never die. Others are just really inaccessible. However, I still need to meet Kearney Barton and it would be a gas to meet Kim Fowley. I'm sure he has some good Sky Saxon stories. But I still want to meet new people with similar interests, like a lot of the same music, enjoy 60s culture, are into old sounds(1955-1975 or anything that just sounds like it) and like to dance to the old sounds. I also would like to meet people with their own style. And I know it sounds crazy but I'd also like to meet people who enjoy the theory of time travel. I mean, who wouldn't want to travel back in time to Swingin' London '65 and catch shows by the Who, Yardbirds, and Pretty Things, then visit the Sunset Strip '66 and witness the Byrds, Love, Standells, and Seeds. Wouldn't that be cool?
I like music. A lot. But what I'm most passionate about is rock from the 1960s, that being mostly bands from the British Invasion and American Revolution. You know....The Tuff Stuff:Garage Rock, garage punk, psychedelia, Merseybeat, English Freakbeat, British R 'N' B, and Mod. I enjoy the off-beat one hit wonders and bands who never made it so I really like listening to things like Nuggets, Pebbles, Highs In The Mid Sixties, I Was A Teenage Caveman, Back From The Grave, Garage Punk Unknowns, Teenage Shutdown, English Freakbeat, and comps on Satan Records. Fuzz, Flakes, and Shakes is Preety good too. I also enjoy the new comps on Sundazed especially Garage Beat '66 and the Northwest Battle of the Bands (being as that's where I'm from). NORTHWEST ROCK RULES! I have a fondness for 60s East LA Rock as well. Plus I enjoy surf, Frat Rock, folk-rock, girl groups, teen idols, 60s bubblegum, 70s glam and glitter rock, 70s hardrock, Proto-Metal, British Metal, 80s LA Metal, Proto-Punk (it's all proto punk, I guess), 70s punk, Early 80s LA Punk, Power Pop, New Wave, Garage Rock Revival and Garage Punk (Bomp, Voxx, Dionysus, Get Hip, Estrus, Norton, Telstar, Crypt, Sympathy, Screaming Apple, Munster, Music Maniac, In The Red, Gearhead, Rip Off, Sundazed, Musick, Yep Rock, Birdman, Rainbow Quartz, Cavestomp, and Wicked Cool), and various items on Rhino Records. I also like 50s rock and roll, rockabilly, 20s-60s country and folk, country rock (Gene Clark, Gram Parsons, Mike Nesmith, and the Byrds invent alternative modern country roots?), alt-country (Wilco), some Southern Rock (Allman Brothers, Lynnard Skynard), 20s-60s blues and R 'N' B, 20s-60s Jazz, Gospel, zydeco, Tex-Mex, 60s soul Stax and Motown, doo-wop, and Jamaican music:Ska, Bluebeat, and Calypso but NOT Reggae (except maybe the really early stuff when it was still called Rock Steady Soul). I also like Classic Rock as well but only the most rockin'. That includes The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Mountain, The Doors, Creedence, Steppenwolf, Iron Butterfly, Vanilla Fudge, Santana (with Greg Rolie), The Chambers Brothers, Rare Earth, and Sly and the Family Stone, baby! And possibly anything that sounds like them. You can throw in The Sweet, T-Rex, Mott The Hoople, Ziggy Stardust, Gary Glitter, Slade, Kiss, The Alice Cooper Band, Funkadelic, The Faces, AC-DC, Van Halen (not Van Hagar), Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Ted Nugent, and some early ZZ Top as well. Of course, Motorhead, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden blow them all away. Maybe a bit embarrasing to mention but I do have some guilty pleasures like the Cult, Guns And Roses, Hanoi Rocks, Angel City, Rose Tattoo, L7, and Metallica (1982-1986). For more tender and quieter moments, I like Neil Young (even with those suckwads Crosby Stills and Nash), The Patti Smith Group (even when they're wild), and Television (even though they're avant-punk). Fave bands and performers include:Bill Haley and the Comets, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Faron Young, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Wanda Jackson, Johnny Burnette and the Rock and Roll Trio, Hasil Adkins, Ronnie Dawson, The Big Bopper, Richie Valens, Ricky Nelson, Dion, Del Shannon, Freddy Cannon, Fats Domino, Hank Ballard, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Muddy Water, Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Reed, Slim Harpo, Elmore James, Little Walter, Little Richard, Larry Williams, Esquerita, The Coasters, Don and Dewey, Bunker Hill, Andre Williams, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Nina Simone, Bessie Griffin, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, The Staple Singers, Arthur Alexander, James Brown, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, Irma Thomas, Carla Thomas, Rufus Thomas, Booker T and the MGs, Etta James, Ike and Tina Turner, Dyke and the Blazers, Martha and the Vandellas, The Temptations, The Contours, Junior Walker and the All-Stars, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, The Isley Brothers, Sam and Dave, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, Solomon Burke, The Rollin' Stones, The Animals, The Yardbirds, Them!, Manfred Mann, The Pretty Things, Downliners Sect, Johnny Kidd and the Pirates, Screamin' Lord Sutch and the Savages, Lord Sutch and Heavy Friends, Crazy World of Arthur Brown, The Soft Machine, The Nice, Os Mutantes, (Dutch) Outsiders, Q65, The Monks, The Troggs, The Kinks, The Who, Small Faces, The Action, The Birds, The Sorrows, The Creation, John's Children, Pink Floyd, The Zombies, Dusty Springfield, The Bee Gees, The Spencer Davis Group, The Easybeats, The Dave Clark Five, The Silver Beatles, The Searchers, The Hollies, The Byrds, The Turtles, Love, The Lovin' Spoonful, The Beau Brummels, The Monkees, The Banana Splits, Max Frost and the Troopers, Davie Allan and the Arrows, Duane Eddy and the Rebels, Link Wray and the Wraymen, Dick Dale and his Del-tones, The Ventures, The Beach Boys, The Trashmen, The Kingsmen, The Wailers, The Sonics, Don and the Goodtimes, Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Young Rascals, Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, Thee Midniters, Question Mark and the Mysterians, Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs, The Sir Douglas Quintet, The Bobby Fuller Four, The Ronnettes, The Shangri-Las, Jackie DeShannon, Nancy Sinatra, The Standells, The Seeds, The Chocolate Watchband, The Shadows of Knight, The Syndicate of Sound, The Remains, The Barbarians, The Strangeloves, The Knickerbockers, The Five Americans, The Gants, Mouse and the Traps, Richard and the Young Lions, The Rockin' Ramrods, Gonn, Thee Sixpence, The Sparkles, The Ugly Ducklings, The New Colony Six, The Blues Magoos, The Count Five, The Music Machine, The Electric Prunes, The Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Thirteenth Floor Elevators, Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band, Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, Kim Fowley, Syd Barrett, The Fugs, The Godz, Bob Dylan, Donovan, The Charlatans, The Grateful Dead, The Jefferson Airplane, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Moby Grape, The Buffalo Springfield, The Blues Project, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, The Velvet Underground, The Stooges, The MC5, The Amboy Dukes, Blue Cheer, The Bob Segar System/Last Herd, The Swamp Rats, The Flamin' Groovies, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Nazz, Big Star, The Raspberries, The J. Locally, I like to listen to Sonic Reducer(plus Road House, Swingin' Doors, Shake The Shack and Preachin' The Blues) on KEXP. I also enjoy American Routes on NPR. When I got the chance, I really enjoyed listening to The Wayback Machine out of St. Louis but since it seems not to exist at this point, I'm glad that it has its many off shoot garage rock podcasts on garagepunk.com, especially Savage Kick, Hanging On For Mercy, Mystery Action, and One Cup of Coffee and a Cigarette. I like the old. I like the obscure. I love it when I hear things I've never heard of. If you think there's a band or performer I should be hip to, then tell me. I like to be educated. Oh.
