How did you get your name?

When I was younger, me being a nerd and very skinny lots of people would try to jump me when I was in school! I was never scared to scrap because my Dad's whippings were Beat downs to the MAX! so I had no fear, after several fights. Also I would sneak out all the time at night to clubs and concerts people would say I was Scandalous and the fact that I started knocking several people out, I came up with the name DJ SKNO (pronounced Skay-No) which stands for "Str8t Knockin Niggaz Out"!

How did you get your start as a deejay?:

I am the oldest of 8 children, 5 boys and 3 girls also a preachers kid, And I was a so called NERD always being cracked on jumped and everything! so it wasnt easy for me to get into the deejay scene ! As a matter of fact very hard! But I have always loved music playing the trumpet in school and in church, I would sneak and listen to the radio to keep updated on music and to stay in the loop with the students that went to my school. When my parents would leave the house, I would try to mix gospel tapes and records (James Cleveland, The Clark Sisters, Andre Crouch, Rance Allen and others) together on my dad's home stereo system with the knobs and buttons (quite comedy actually!!) but it worked! I got caught several times and received several beat downs but that only helped me persue my goal even more!! I basically taught myself how to mix and scratch! The only help I had was when I would sneak out at night to clubs and watch the deejay at local clubs do his thing!! By the time break dancing came out I was fully A.W.O.L. against my parents (as far as the music) and into Hip Hop and B-boying heavy sneaking to many contests and events!! I eventually started doing little parties and little dances, eventually graduating from High School and going on to college majoring in Broadcast Communications, and it was on from there!

What makes DJ SKNO different from other deejays?:

My style is different from many! I am also known as the deejay that isnt scared to BREAK REAL GOOD music National or local And If You call yourself making a mix cd I want to hear mixing, not songs in a row with you screaming "Thats a Compilation cd"! Nothing wrong with that but call it that if your songs are not mixed!

What have been some of your Accomplishments?:

I went from Mixtape DJ to Club DJ and Then Radio! (Not Counting High School Radio)I have hosted and Deejayed many concerts with such veterans as The Notorious BIG, Ice Cube, WC, LL Cool J, Big Pun, Tha Liks, Big Tigger, Big Lez, Lil Flip, Floetry, 3-6 Mafia, PMD, The Ying Yang Twinz, Young Jeezy, The Geto Boys, Young Buck, T.I. and lots more!I was the Morning Show Host and Hosted my own 5 hour mixshow show 5 days a week at WBTT 94.5 for 4 years.Then after a one year hiatus, I moved on to Overnight Personality and Host Mixer at 92.1 WROU for 4 years!Special mixer for WDHT 102.9 for 1 yearVarious Mix weekends at several other stationsI am also the First DJ to do a Mixshow Live from the Club in Dayton, Ohio!!Doing major album projects and events!! Not to mention Clubs, Mixtapes and Concerts!I also DJ for the self acclaimed Hip Hop group 275 & DeMarco of Tall Entertainment, and also TOOMB, Darkxeid / DVS and several other Groups in the midwest!
