About Me

Ghello there, dear visitor!
Please let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I'm a 21-year old bassplayer, living in Antwerp. I picked up the electric bass when I was about sixteen and the double bass when I was about eighteen. I had allready been playing in several bands when I suddenly found myself studying at the Royal Conservatory of Music (in Antwerp), where I'm taught by: Piet Verbist & Nic Thys (double bass), Benoit Vanderstraeten (electric bass), Fré Desmyter (piano & eartraining) Gulli Gudmundson, Jan de Haas, Hendrik Braekman, Chris Joris (combo). I also attended masterclass by: John Goldsby, Mark Helias, Octurn, Fred Hersch trio (with John Hebert and Nasheet Waits), Reggie Washington trio (with Marcus Strickland and Gene Lake), Peter Van Marle, Martijn Van Iterson... I'm also studying classical bass (started of with Lode Leire, now with Jonathan Focquaert). Although my studies mostly concern jazz, I do play lots of different kinds of music in a wide variety of bands:
- Jack Bond
- Maarten Westra Hoekzema
- Lo-an
- Nomad Swing
I also play lots of jazz-gigs and I'm rehearsing with a piano-trio, soon to be heard of!I hope you'll enjoy your visit to my space!
