Black & Blue is also for sale in Newport News, VA at FANTASY on Jefferson Ave. and PRO MUSIC & SOUND in Yorktown.
Sam McDonald from the Daily Press describes the music on Black and Blue as "snarling hard rock right along with delicate, moody acoustic songs."

CD Experts are once again handling Annie's CD duplication, having done such a terrific job on both Sybil and Here We Are. Got a CD that needs duplication? Check them out.
The AJB is Annie's band that plays a high energy, hard rocking mix of originals and a few covers that they've made their own.
Solo, Annie plays acoustic guitar and assembles a set based on the audience and venue. Songs cover a wide range of genres including alternative & classic rock, folk, jazz, blues, pop, and originals.
With the Annie Johnson Band and as a member of Licious, My Sister, and Undertow, Annie has played just about everywhere there is to play in southeastern Virginia and the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Road trips have taken the AJB as far north as Kent & Cleveland, Ohio and as far south as St. Petersburg, Florida for the FPG Beltane Festival 2005 and Kolomoki State Park in Georgia for Earth Dance 2005. They have performed live several times on 93.7 The Coast, BOB FM Norfolk, and Paul Shugrue's Out of the Box on 89.5 FM WHRV. Favorite gigs include Hampton Bay Days, Hampton Block Parties, 24th Street Stage in Virginia Beach, and Harvest Faire in Newport News, VA.
Annie began working with Tidewater Arts Outreach (TAO) in 2006. The mission of TAO is to bring live music and arts performances and programs to people who are isolated from society.
Annie has released four CDs. The first CD, Letters From L.A., was co-produced & engineered by Stacy Heydon, who has toured as the lead guitarist for David Bowie and Iggy Pop. The 2nd CD, Sybil, features two of the AJB's most requested songs: Into the Pain and Skinny Girl. The third CD is Here We Here, co-produced and engineered by Skip DeRupa , who has worked with major labels at Windmark in Virginia Beach.
In their more acoustic rock days, the AJB opened for Maria Muldaur, Agents of Good Roots, Shannon Curfman, and Sally Taylor.
Over the years, a few different styles of music have ended up in the set list, depending on the gig. This might explain the Folk Artist of the Year award in 2002 from the readers of Ninevolt Magazine, and the Blues-A-Palooza Battle of the Bands contest that we won at Goodfellas in Hampton in 2002.
Annie's been featured in the Virginian Pilot, the Daily Press, Ninevolt, MP3.com, Estrogen Music.com, Besonic.com, Acid Planet.com, National Public Radio Open Mic Web Site, and the Paganet.

What's Playing in Thom's Truck: Incubus - Light Grenades, Sparta - Porcelain, Neil Young - Comes A Time, Rage Against the Machine, Paul McCartney - Memory Almost Full.
Some of Annie's old favorites: Nirvana, L7, Hole, Heart, Led Zeppelin, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Jack Off Jill, Girlschool, Yes, Rush, Rage Against the Machine, Massive Attack, and Marilyn Manson.
Some of Thom's current favorites: the Mars Volta, Sparta, At The Drive-In, Incubus
George, Jack, and Thom agree that Grand Funk was a HUGE influence on them all.

Sounds Like: That's up to you. .... but for the sake of the almighty My Space search engine, let's just say that Annie's been told she sounds like Geddy Lee from Rush, Ann Wilson & Nancy Wilson from Heart, Joan Jett, Tori Amos, Robert Plant, and Ani Difranco. Her favorite comparison would have to be the one where somebody once said her music sounds like Olivia Newton John crossed with Led Zeppelin. Then there's that other one about how she sounds like Alice In Chains if Alice were actually Alice. The comparison with Geddy Lee always cracks her up, too. "And the men who hold high places must be the ones who start to mold a new reality...closer to the HEART!!!"
