Music and guitars are my passion!
I have many friends I met through music, and most have a "gift". I struggle at it, but would not change the path I have followed for so long. As a youngster, I remember the Westerns which featured the singing cowboys, playing their guitars. My dad played the banjo, which furthered my interest with with string instruments. Then came Elvis! I loved his music and the symbolic guitar, even though he wasn't a real player. I played in bands from Jr High years to High School days, doing covers by the Beach Boys and other pop artists of the day.
A few years down the road the Beatles came on the scene. That was a life changing experience, not only for me, but for the world. Music changed.
There was a three year gap while I served in the Army, but I stayed involved with music, and when I came back to this great country, there was Hendrix, Zeppelin, Allman Brothers, Woodstock, Flower Power, and a great new music scene. I played in a local band, "Stonehenge", for a number of years, but eventually had to settle down and get a day job.
Life has been good! I have managed to work, raise my beautiful daughter, and still stay involved in music...even though it is just a part time involvement...by jamming at "open mic night" and "blues jams." I feel so blessed to have the wonderful friends I have met through music...some of the most beautiful people you could ever imagine.
